Said this on another forum. I'm not going to say if I agree with him or not. But, from the looks of things (no real face time on pre-race shows) - it doesn't look like won a lot of friends and influenced a lot of people (I'm only the third post on here). Also, when he was fined at Daytona last year I didn't see him crying to NASCAR that they didn't fine him enough or take away enough points. JMO

I think it all boils down to doing what's right or wrong either you have values or you don't! I'm sticking with what I'm supposed to do not taking the easy route to advance it never last that way anyways.

theo the daytona deal with gem boys last year was they had holes in the rear plates or such, something they had always done...and ray fought it like we had done it all beforeand now you say we cant.....thats the simplistic version...but it was somewhat like that..
either way....many drivers, not just E came out and agreed that 99 team in wrong...

I definitely see and hear what you are saying. I think and this is JMO - that their deal at Daytona last year was NASCAR'S fault and GEM's fault. NASCAR changes the rules when ever they want - day by day, hour by hour, minutes by minute. I don't think it was fair that GEM's guys got busted for something they didn't know about and had always done - but the other side of that is why didn't they know about it? I don't have that answer. Same as I don't have the answer to why Carl's lid was off. I still don't have the answer to why my upper level sliding glass door got shattered when I live in the middle of nowhere and the derelict kid across the road has a BB gun and shoots their shed with it everyday (any ideas?).

I'm just saying that whether I agree with ES or not, he didn't do himself any favors with that article. They announced it on RACEday that a lot of the drivers agreed with Carl's penalty. I'm sure they did (and do). Given what we post on these forums and elsewhere about ES - he didn't do himself any favors by going public. And, I must say that I do respect his opinion as well as yours.

He's having a bad day.

Alot of the younger crowd don't get this, they haven't been shown right or wrong or ignore it. Hell is my constant reminder. Good post.

Bad day is mild! Now he's out. Seems to be ok (in terms of the infield care center diagnosis).

Guess this bumps him out of the top 12????

Well out. If he'd finished where he was running at the time, it would have put him in 18th :(

Excuse me. We're talking about racing on this forum and everyone on here is watching the NASCAR race. There is no hidden agenda. Go to the POLITICAL forums. Thanks!

Yeah and the butt biting, hoof in mouth (no offense Phoenix), ghosts haunting thing just might be here - JMO. No press on ES after he was out of the race but interviews with Carl (and commercials after that, blah blah). It seems like it is a repeat of last year. Let's hope not. Seems like KK was the only one who got any press today for the GEM drivers and he didn't end his day so hot. Just hope they can get it together and have a good year.

Still on the fence if I agree with ES's opinions on penalties or not. Will sleep on it (not with it - tee hee). Let you know when I get my thoughts together.

i agree with you theo..lets hope this isnt a repeat of last season.
they all seemed to have issues today though...
they need to put this behind and move on to move back into points...and many teams still having issues just not E or K today...so on to bristol
and lets see how it goes....shake it off and move on and get back up in points...with steady and consistant runs like they had been doing...
lots of teams seem to be having issues with this car or the tires it seems...
next week will be interesting to see how they run at bristol.

I just hate to see this stuff happen so early in the season. It's such a tough road (no pun) back. Bristol should be good and hopefully a comeback. That was just plain weird today with only 12 cars finishing on the lead lap. Scott Riggs was even griping and he isn't even at GEM any more! I miss him being there.

No offense taken Theo, usually with horses, they do think before they act, usually act anyway, but they think lol. JMO on the Edwards thing, and a little something that I learned when we were racing some, you don't talk about cheating, cause EVERY driver and EVERY team has done it at some point and time, so it's better just keep your mouth closed. Did not see every much of the race today, but at one point when he was complaining about the car, that he wished that his oil cap thingy was off and he had that extra 100# of downforce he talked about having when they did the same thing before Nascar starting teching it. lol. I just wish he had not brought former car owners names into the equation, that in my opinion was not right, even if I had agreed with what he said.

Theo, how are you doing?
