No matter what he can not be knocked out with two races to go. He can lose his 9 bonus points by being knocked out of the top 10 and only being a wild card slot. But heck he started last year with zero bonus points.

it would be WONDERFUL if the people who covered the sport of NASCAR were more interested in it to KNOW that for Tony to drop out of the chase since he has 3 wins,, would mean he would be out of his car, parked for the next 2 races.... articles like THIS are why racers like Tony have no respect for the people who cover the sport, who do not know much about it........

The 9 bonus points don't really mean anything after the first Chase Race, so unfortunatly for me he'll be in no matter what, but I'm really starting to hate Nascar now for not penalizing him for the helmet toss and his words after the incident

Tony does need to finish good in the next 2 races.
Stewart, though, is more focused on the two remaining races before the Chase. With three victories, he'll make the Chase but the question is if he'll receive one of the automatic spots for finishing in the top 10 or need a wild card. He's 10th in the standings heading into Sunday night's race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, 16 points ahead of 11th-place Kasey Kahne. Should Stewart drop into a wild-card position, he would not receive the bonus points for his victories when the points are reset.

He is more interested in his daughter gf.
