Yep true they should drop the penalty against Robby if they bend the rules for everyone else.

This isn't the first time NASCAR bent the rules. They make them up almost every week. I have not seen the NASCAR rule book but the first version of the tire rule I read this year stated the tire man was to hand the tire off the the guy behind the wall to avoid stray tires. Well that isn't what he did. It was the old roll it from the front of the car and that is what caused the problem they've always had, cameraman or not.

If you'd like a copy, go to Jayski.com and you can find out how ... I believe it will cost about $450.00 or so, as you need to register in a NASCAR sanctioned series s a team/owner, and by doing so, you get a rule book.

Also, the requirement isn't "to hand it off" as you suggest, but merely to have it 'under control' from the middle of the pit stall to the wall. They (team 99) appeared to do that on Sunday, but an outside entity interfered with that process ... we'll see. And I'm a HMS fan, so in my opinion, whatever penalty might be assessed by NASCAR is nothing that can be argued successfully against 95% of the time anyway.

Its the ole Rauch~Hendrick~Childress~Gibbs rule..#101, he who spends ..... WINS. Its all about money, even Helton knows that. If Robbie is penalized, I'm done with nascar (lower case) on purpose. Again, its all about money, and Robbie doesn't have the bucks!

Who IS Robbie Gordon anyway. Has he ever won a race? He is a nobody and why would anyone care about him anyway?

I'm going to bed, I was at Sear's Point today, but the police and a burglar alarm woke me up at about 2:00AM, so he's on his own - not an ideal situation, but he's gotta grow up eventually! Not likely to happen today I'll admit, but what can ya do?

"To have it under control at the middle of the pit box." Yep, that sounds like a NASCAR rule. Vague as hell and applies to whomever they want to screw.

Personally, I don't see why it matters whether an outside entity was present or not. It's still the pit crew's job to be sure their area is run correctly and safely. If the camera man was in the way why didn't someone have him move out of the way when the car came in? Having a tire roll across pit road seems like a major safety problem and NASCAR should be sure it doesn't happen again. If the pit crew isn't responsible for their pit box then NASCAR needs to keep the press out of the way.

I'm also wondering how one pit crew could do so many things wrong during a race and still manage to win. They had the two tires that got away from them and the oil lid problem (which they say was unintentional). Maybe Carl will be better off with a new crew chief anyway.
