Here's an interesting little tidbit. Guess Sheridan Ridge isn't all it was made out to be. Combine that with the slumping housing market in today's economy. Who can afford to invest in a pricey vacation resort that may not even get off the ground.

I thought there was something shady about that whole deal.

living in Virginia, I have been hearing a commercial for mountain property from $29,000 for a bunch of acres.. I wondered if it was Shenandoah Ridge..those guys are lucky they didn't build their homes yet

one lug nut obviously believes that the guys who pulled out are doing so cause the venture failed to launch....imagine that with this recession and times of economy....its called business failures-
and that would include any of the other joint
adventures (vlp or ect...) they start up, get going and dont do well...you close em down.

I wonder how many NASCAR fans got screwed in this deal and weren't able to get out like the rich drivers?

I don't think any, because the article says that no other lots were sold according to county records.

It seemed to be a weak turn out. But then again the timing was horrendous when it comes down to it. Had the economy not tanked shortly thereafter it may have worked out.

I don't know. It seemed like a good comment, but although it was supposed to be designed for the fan that wanted to be able to live and spend time living near the NASCAR stars, I really wonder how many fans could have afforded it. Lots were several hundred thousand dollars each. I know if I had to spend that much for land, I would have to pitch a tent on it in order to live there.
