Microsoft is planning this very well as far as marketing goes. With a "Believe" ad series, the viral marketing campaign, and the other miscellaneous ways of marketing, this game will be fun to play for anyone.

This combined with the recent price drop for the xbox 360 console, should bury Sony's PS3 this holiday season. Sony has NOTHING going into this holiday except their cockiness and belief that teens and parents alike will be willing to shell out over $700 for a PS3, one game, and an extra controller that will be obsolete in a few months anyway, since they are putting out an updated controller in a few months that comes with rumble.

Halo 2 is clearly the best video game ever if you like first person shooters. Online multiplayer is what makes the game go from cool to incredible. Hopefully Halo 3 is even better online?!

It lets kids and adults alike blow off some steam by blowing up some aliens...or, if they have an XBox Live account, blowing up other players online.

Growing up as a pcgamer, I could never master the controls of a FPS with a controller. WASD and a mouse for me! ;)

Slurpees, Nascar and finally, the ultimate in adult mentality and mature taste, Marvel comics. No longer just kid stuff indeed!

Can't wait for this one to come out. Its definitely the biggest next-gen title to be released so far and it will break all game sales records for sure.

Halo 3 is going to be a good solid game, but it is looking very tired at this point. And it definetley isn't good enough to run out and buy such a poor quality console like the xbox 360.

The big features MS is hyped about seem…not that big to me. The in game recording is cool but for the average gamer it won’t be that big of a deal and it doesn’t take the actual game play to a new level.

The moding of the “forge” is neat but over the top - where is the challenge if you can summon anything at any moment? They went too far.

So back to the main game, the basic improvements are just not enough to make the experience anything other than Halo 2 amped up and Halo 2 was a disappointment. Bungie spent most of their time on the recording and “Forge” customizations when the actual game play needed innovation but I think they really haven’t been able to take it to the next level after Halo 1.

The other problem is that Halo 3 now is beginning to look like the looney tunes of FPS (first person shooters). The characters fly ridiculous distances when shot or blown up and look like Wile E Coyote of the Road Runner comics.

And most people involved in the beta were not very impressed with it.

If you wan this game it is not worth the hype wait for two weeks and buy it for half price on ebay.

When the Halo 3 (believe) advert brings tears to a grown mans eyes its gone beyond the logical and entered the realm of pure emotion. Powerful stuff

Oh lord. A grown man crying over the cheap figurine advert? Is this the mental state of Halo fans?

Have fun in your Looney Tunes FPS.

I doubt you have the jewels to actually own the best console. Home makes xbl look like it is from the 80's what a joke! However most xbox fanboys are mostly the dev type and not into tru next gen games so it is understandable.

Yep, so many people were disappointed that about 1 million of them went and pre-ordered it.

Judging by the response on www.2old2play.com , I think it looking to be pretty good.

Metacritic.com has the average of most major reviews at about 9.6.

Almost all of the evidence points to one of the best console games ever.
