I agree, but corporate spin doctors see it differently. That's why Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt are recognized as seven time NEXTEL CUP champions. Isn't that ridiculous?

I will also remember it as IRP instead of O'Reilly but that being said, when was the last time someone said Hoosier Dome? Just wondering..

Why all the O'Reilly hating? You might not like the name, but I don't see anybody complaining about the updates THEIR money put into the facility.

It's probably because of all the illegal immigrants they hire for $7 an hour in their Brownsburg DC. A few guys who work their have put a call in to ICE. Maybe some of the money that went to the track could have been better spent

AHHHH...the Hoosier Dome. I still refer to it as such.
The fireworks after last night's events at IRP/ORP scared my dog again.

Thanks for the positive article on O'Reilly track. I been there at least 10 times for NHRA racing and consider it not the Indy 500 as the greatest race.

So then we can dispence with comparing Richard Petty and Dale Sr.to any current drivers since they did not when the Nextel Cup? Get off the name issue O'Reilly are suppying funds to the venue to improve it. AJ raced with Copenhagen across his chest while Mario raced with motorola all over his uniform while now pitches for Firestone. I don't think they are upset with a naming rights contract for a race track. Mario had his first major open wheel win at what is now ORP.....winning the Hoosier Grand Prix on the road course... which is in such bad shape now they don't even host club races on it. Maybe now they can afford to make the repairs.

Us traditionalists hate to see places like IRP, the Hoosier Dome, Candlestick Park, etc give into the corporate name game, but it will continue to happen. We just have to deal with it and move on. A new name on an old venue won't change history though.

The Ginn Resorts Lightship and fireworks scared my dog again. You would think he would be used to that by now.

Chris, you're too dumb to spell or construct a proper sentence; why in the world do you think someone as ignorant as you should be allowed to have an opinion on the possible location of a museum?
Huh, prisoners get way to much time on the internet to make themselves feel better of the themselves. Aren't you supposed to be in shower picking up soap for your fellow inmates.
