There are 11 comments on the NASCAR Winston Cup Scene story from Jan 30, 2008, titled Dropping team sure to be tough for Roush Fenway. In it, NASCAR Winston Cup Scene reports that:

“You have to keep the morale up in the shop. Everybody has to know there's some security there so you can get everything in place.”

Five doesn't divide into four evenly. So if Roush Fenway Racing has to pare one team from its stable of five cars before the start of the 2010 season, which one will it be? That's the quandary facing the team ... via NASCAR Winston Cup Scene

I think that David Ragen should be the one to go because he dosn't do as good as the others.
One thing though if Jack Roush get rid ou Jamie McMurray #26 I will cry for days and days. Jamie is my fav.

Prediction:
The Six will absorbed into Yates Racing, which needs the infusion of cash. The two teams already share an engine program, and are about as close as two different teams can get.

BUT, Rousch Fenway can not "sell" one of the teams to Yates, Just as Ginn could not merge two of his teams with DEI and "sell" the third. One of those owners points will just "go away"

What would be interesting, If Yates takes control of the motors. Rousch/Fenway split into Rousch Racing and Fenway Motorsports. The two yates cars get "merged" into one of the companies, and now your looking at a 4 car Rousch racing and a 3 car Fenway motorsports. All seven teams sharing a "strategic alliance" running yates motors. Jack rousch would then control seven teams. HAHA.

Gentle, Joe Gibbs didn't move to Toyota without knowing that he could be competitive with the cars and The Cat in the Hat isn't going to just "shut down" a team. He's smarter than that and besides it's in NASCAR's interest to help him find a way to make it work.

Do you still feel the same way? Where is Kennseth and McMurray in points? How many races have they finished this year?

David Ragan is doing great this year. I honestly don't see Rousch getting rid of his #6 car. Too much history there.

It will be interesting though.. I'm sure it will have something to do with Yates.. Somehow Jack will figure out how to get 1 of his cars w/points over to Yates. I'm think more like the 26. I guess only time will tell for sure.

not much question mcmurray will be let go. edwards is about to sign a new contract as well as biffle, kenseth is too good even though he isnt having a great year, and ragan is 10 years younger than jamie. not to mention jamie is getting paid more than just about every driver in nascar. roush loves #6 also. hopefully crown royal will agree to swap from roush to yates and mcmurray can stay in the #26 crown royal car, because thats a sweet ride

for some reason jamie mcmurray of joplin mo. has failed to promote himself like clint bowyer of emporia kansas and carl edwards of columbia mo.. bowyer & edwards have built a strong base fan support among mo.-kan racing fans. carl showed up recently at quincy illinois dirt track support a couple of racing friends. will roush be willing to pay carl huge money to stay?
