Rousch Still Grousing About Toyota

Sep 10, 2007 Full story: The Daily News-Record 61

“They haven't built their own teams. They had to go with their money, they had to go buy an established team and convert it. And that doesn't earn any credibility with me.”

It took a while, but Roush believes what happened Wednesday confirmed his fears. via The Daily News-Record

Poor Jack, I guess he has done all he did with Ford without any factory help. He must truly be a self made man. Besides who asked Jack for a credibility check? Is he the credibility police? He cried like a baby until Ford gave the teams the Fusion. I think the Ford, Chevrolet, and the Dodge teams would do much better working on their own teams instead of crying foul because of a perceived advantage of another team or manufacturer. I have found in life that my greatest competition has always been myself! Why is it that human beings seem to always think that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence?

I was a major Tony fan but can't back a Japanese owned team over the American run teams. I have to look at the bigger picture. Next year I am going over to Hendrick's. I was never a Rousch fan but kudo's to him if it tick's off Japan's ownership of any race team . But if you want here's a site you can get next years Gibb's racing merchandise. Be the first on your block to have em. http://tinyninjas.com/index.cgi/tinyninjas/ti...

He didn't cry this much when Dodge jumped in.

Interesting stat.
Toyota employs more Americans that the Big 3 combined.
Maybe they wouldn't hire Jack to their TDR Department.
Don't get me wrong I've always respected Jack's ability to build engines but this is out of line.

I saw this thread get started and was apprehensive to come on board. You are all here, so you know if I say something that isn't right, you will correct me, nicely! Anyway, you know that I feel that Jack has the best drivers, but why is this man so flipped out when it comes to Toyota? I can still remember the article on Nascar.com regarding baseball bats and bashing Toyotas.

Our friend is right. Toyota probably does employ more folks than the others. But, even though some of us are more partial to the American cars and I understand that and it's cool, why this almost hatred towards Toyota? Guys, seriously, pretend Toyota or Kia or any of them even existed. Pretend it was Volkswagon who developed a muscle car and then boom, they turned it into a racecar and got in to Nascar. How would we feel? Anybody?

Dill, alot of stems from morons not entering 2007. They feel the US should not be doing business with Japan due to WW2 and Pearl Harbor. Well, hello, then let's not do business with the Germans either because of WW2 and the Holocaust. WAKE UP PEOPLE. Japan apologized, we became allies, and if it wasn't for them, we wouldn't have some of this great technology we have.
Other just don't like the idea of a "foreign" car in NASCAR but they don't realize that foreign cars have been in NASCAR since the 50s. Jaguar won NASCAR races back in the day. Dodge was taken out of NASCAR by the American owners and put back in NASCAR by the German owners. Now they've been sold again, and I am not sure to who this time.
Hey, guess what. I've been driving foreign vehicles since 2005. My Ford Freestar was built in Canada, and my new Ford Fusion was built in Mexico.

If Jack wants to be mad at some Japs, he should try blaming Mitsubishi, they were the ones that made the Japanese Zero fighter airplane that caused such destruction at Pearl Harbor. Why don't people cast more blame on the Germans anyway, it was Hitler that started the whole deal anyway, the Japanese just fell for his line. We should all forgive, we will never forget, but we must forgive.

Jack doesn't know a whole lot about credibility. Back when Kurt Busch got punched by Jimmy Spender, Roush went on TV and said that Kurt is a "Citizen and a good guy". A couple of days later it came out that Citizen Kurt had pretty much dared Spencer to hit him. Jack's credibility went down the drain on that one.

Jack hasn't had credibility with from day one. He's a short little imp with a control freak problem. Instead of just shutting his mouth and "showing Toyota who's boss", he whines like a frigging 4 yr old. My 5 yr old doesn't whine as much as him.

Old Jack has just been in a bad mood all year because he thought NASCAR wasn't really going to implement the COT and he let Rick Hendrick get the jump on him with the it. Half his teams have run like crap and the others weren't even as good as they usually are so it's not been a year to brag about. In the back of his mind, the cat in hat knows Ford may call any day to let him know they are getting out of the racing business because of their financial woes.

Jack is NASCAR's version of the roaming gnome. Only the real roaming gnome has better teeth. It hurts me to see him smile.
