He is happy to be at Hendrick but the stress is beginning to show. He knows the eyes of racing are all on him and that he has got to put
the rumors to rest. In order to do that he has to
give one of his best performances at Daytona.
He will be fine after Speedweek is over..

Hi Darlin. It's like starting a brand new job. It takes a little while to get the feel for how everyone and everything works in his new suroundings. He'll be fine. But you can'texpect him to come right out and win Daytona. I'd be happy with a top five and let him get a feel for things with his new team. He'll be fine. At least we know the motor's are much better.

I'm sure he feels a little out of place so to speak. Like Terry said it's like starting a new job or the first day at a new school. It will take a little while for him to adjust, that's why I think it was cool that he went down there early to get a feel for everybody. If his speeds keep holding up like they are he will be a happy man. All he needs is a car good enough to win and he can do the rest. Remember, he is one of the best at Daytona and Dega if not the best. He will be allright, he is a big boy now and I think he is just serious and raring to go!

I think ya'll are right. I know every time I have ever started a new job I have a case of the nerves in the beginning.

It wont be too long now and look at the speed. This is just what the doctor ordered this year for Junior. It could be the boost he needed. Let's hope it last all year.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too. I guess he's feeling a lot of pressure too with all the people looking at him and wondering what's gonna happen. I think he's gonna do better than I thought he would. And I thought he would do pretty good this year.
He's gonna do great once he gets to racing.
Nothin's gonna slow him down. There ain't no stoppin' him now!:-)
Have a great night everyone!

I agree! The only thing I worry about is him getting caught up in a wreck which is just being paranoid. He needs to get up front and stay there the whole race. Let the wrecks happen behind him. I hope him and Jeff and Jimmie work together for most of the race and then battle it out at the end. At this point I will settle for a top five and a good start to the season and something to build on. In my heart though I want him to drive like hell and go get that payday! How you doin? Stay warm tomorrow in that bus!

I'm with you on that one. I love when they kick but at the end. I think those three will work really well together. They're all about teamwork at HMS.
I'll be ok tomorrow but I think I'll have a long field trip this Saturday. The high is supposed to be 8 then. And the state just got more strict last year on diesel buses. We can't idle them for more than 10 minutes an hour. I hope I'll have an old bus so they won't be able to check how long I run it. Our new buses like the one I drive every day have GPS. Man they can check everything on those sucker. Well wherever I go, I hope they have a place where I can go in and keep warm.
I'm exhausted so I'm gonna sign off now.
Sleep well in that comfy bed and don't take too much NyQuil, ok? I hope you're feeling better.
Sleep well, sweetie!

I just saw an interview with him, he seemed sullen like he lost his best friend or something. Strange, very strange.

He may just be getting into race mode. He seems to shut everything out when he does that.
