Michael Waltrip owes his career to Dale Earnhardt. Michael won all 4 of his races at restrictor plate tracks, and in DEI cars when they were the top stuff in NASCAR. Michael is really not a very good driver.

Swing and a miss, Strike one! Michael won a race for the Woods bros. in the 21 Citgo car! The car can be seen in the gift shop at Raceworld USA, The Woods bros. gave Michael the car out of appreciation! SOOOO I reckon they think he can drive too!

Sax, what happened at Daytona was(without getting nasty) David Hyder or one of his buddies that Michael hired along with Hyder, disobeyed Michael's orders of absolutely NO CHEATING. He said that if there was a "gray area", come to him and he'll determine if they should go ahead and do it. Well, one of them boys didn't listen, put some crap in Michael's fuel that was illegal, and got busted. Once Michael & Ty figured out who was responsible, they fired all of them. So I am guessing all of them knew about it. I know alot of people don't believe Michael was innocent in all this but you have to remember, he was NOT about to soil his reputation and Toyota's(at least in their first race) That was just absolutely stupid.
Thanks for the explaination. I've watch the 500 on TV since it was first broadcast & I've seen five races live. I'm what you might call an interested fan bit not one really in the know. My truck reflects my interest, front & back, but I have no numbers anymore. 9 was my favorite number at the end. As pure luck would have it, and hour or so after posting my question, an old friend dropped by. Wanted to know what I was up to. When I told him of my recent post, he said, "Hell, why didn't you call & ask?" The story as HE knows it: It seem the substance was as old as the substance, back from late 60s or early 70s. STERNO fuel by name. It really gives a kick! If it goes undetected for a small number of laps, it goes away. Seems Michael, because he didn't know it was there, didn't drive it long enough to burn it off.

Yeah sorry, Michael won plenty of Busch races and a Cup race before Dale hired him. Dale hired him because Michael knew he had the talent and was able to win more, just needed the equipment to do it. Dale said so himself. That's not MAKING someone, that's helping someone achieve his goals who you know deserves it and can do it. Michael's talent in lower class crappy cars MADE him.
He could have had better equipment sooner, and more wins, but no teams wanted a "Jaws Junior" until they saw he was a winner too, but by then, Dale had died and Michael stayed out of loyalty. That loyalty ran out in 2005 when Richie Gilmore screwed Michael over and Teresa allowed it. Hell Dale Jr saw it and left too.

As far as I'm concerned anyone that goes from thread to thread to make sure to talk about people being gay is gay. At least think of a new one, you saying this person or that person is gay all the time is old. If you have to bash come up with a new line at least. Not that anyone believes you though.

Yes, Dale Sr. said, "You will win in my car". Dale Sr. knew that Michael could win and so do I. Michael does not drive his cars with his testosterone, he drives usually with his head. He has made mistakes as they all have. My preditcion is that this year he will really shine. GoooooooooMikey!!!!!!!!

What is with all the gay stuff? That's all you see on here anymore, or who is JR dating. I don't personally care if someone is gay if they are good people. Nor do I care who Jr is or isn't seeing.
When are people going to leave it alone?
Freaky people. lol

That's not true. He lucked into a Winston when he was in the Dalmation car but that was not a points race and does not count towards his career wins. Look it up.

Jim the only kind of track JR has not won on is a road course. he has wins at Bristol, Texas, Atlanta, and Daytona nd Talladega. The covers the superspeedway, trioval and short track. Michael has only won on restrictor plate tracks. Think before you type.

Trying to correct me, you've inadvertantly contradicted yourself! You said ALL his wins came from DEI,Right? Well they didn't! When I corrected you, You changed the Answer by adding to the question, only points races count! I answered your question as put! At least in cup series! I'm not trying to be an a*s about it! I'll have to find the photo from when we were at Raceworld, with that car in it, so I can read the plaque.

Yeah yeah that's what they all say when they screw up and say Michael's never won. When proven wrong, the same excuse every time is "I meant points race"

Sorry, you were proven wrong, get over it.

If Michael never moved to DEI, so far in his career win column, it would say 0. Mike Skinner won the exhibition race in Japan however he is listed as never winning a Cup race.

What a great driver POS is? I wonder how many walls he has demolished in his career?

Any stats on that "G-Man"?

Let' see----we did see two just in qualifying last season----remember LVMS & Lowe's!

It's obviously the same person doing it over and over. Why? who knows? But I wish they'd find a new slam that one is old :)

I don't understand your 1st sentence, are you talking about Skinner. I never said he was a good driver, but I don't think Michael is that good either. You probably think that Kyle Petty is a champion too.

Talkin' about "Hair"/POS/Wall-Bang er/owner of Motormouth Motorsports! I dig that fact you mentioned, that take away is DEI wins and it would be a big ZERO in his win column. Check out his all-time JAPCAR Cup record and it is one of the lowest ratio among the active drivers, considering how many races he has run!

Not an outstanding endorsement of those who claim POS has driving talent, is it?

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Virgo

You have a very high opinion of a certain person today, believing that they can do no wrong. But how realistic are you being? It looks as though you're viewing the world through rose-colored glasses, which is fine if it's only a temporary state but quite another matter if you're deliberately ignoring problems and pretending that they don't exist.
