We can always count on Larry Mac to suck up to Hendrick .What exactly was ol Larry doing in Daytona , apparently he wasn't watching the cars practice . Kahne was the fastest car in drafting , and he doesn't drive for Hendrick or Toyota . Larry ,the hack , Mac .

I agree Margo. Larry Mac might be a winning crew chief, but come, it was Dale Earnhardt driving the car. Larry constantly shows what a jerk he is. He tosses drivers under the bus without proof or cause. He SUCKS.

Hendrick or RCR, either one for ole Mac, I was surprised he mentioned Toyota, Maybe we will get lucky this year, and when ole Mac says somthing stupid about Michael (which he is prone to do)DW will show some of what Ole Rusty got!

I think Larry tries to convince himself he's correct, sometimes he's on the money other times he out in left field. Then he drones on and on, convincing himself.
Andy I don't deny that Larry did a good job when he was with RCR, and helped put Dale in the win column again. But you have to admit that he drones. He knows what he's talking about when it's technical, just not any other time.

I thought he got most of his wins with Davey, not with Sr. I watched a piece where it said the McReynolds/Earnhart combination didn't go so well, that's why they didn't work together but a short time...I do agree that he is VERY opinionated-along with Darrell!

That is very true. If I am not mistaken he was only with dale for a season. They won a championship that year.
You have to excuse me today everyone, I'm not on top of my game today. Taking lots of cold meds.

Why is Mac a "great, great, crew chief"? Because he was on top of the pit box when SR won the Daytona 500? Because he only lasted one season with SR?

His first win as a crew chief was in 1988 at Watkins Glen with Ricky Rudd as the driver.

The combination in 1991 of Larry, Robert Yates and driver Davey Allison was pure magic. Together they brought home 11 wins and 3 pole positions.
They won The Winston back-to-back in 1991 & 1992. As crew chief, Larry won his first Daytona 500 in 1992 with Davey behind the wheel of the famous #28 Texaco Ford.
When teamed with driver Ernie Irvan in 1993, the two combined for 5 pole positions.

After joining Richard Childress Racing in 1997, Larry helped NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt earn the one missing jewel of his champion's crown - the 1998 Daytona 500.
Larry McReynolds has enjoyed 23 victories, 21 pole positions, 122 Top 5 finishes and 209 Top 10 finishes.
McReynolds-led teams have finished in the Top 10 in the Winston Cup point standings six times and finished in the Top 5 three of those times.

I understand. I personally don't care much for him either. My problem is I'm a senior fan and when it finally dawned on me the huge mistake I made in a previous post you had already posted this. I felt like an idiot but what can you do? I have a memory problem sometimes I have to think more than others.

Hey, everyone has those moments! If you're a Sr. fan, that's probably why you don't think to much of Larry McReynolds...LOL
