so you would rather buy a ford that is made in mexico, rather than a toyota made in the USA. They employ Americans. If you slam their product then you slam the quality of hard working Americans. Japs aren't stupid they know American workers are the best. thats why they are making their product here. Fact is the Unions priced the American worker out of a job(just so Hoffa jr can pay the increased green fee at the club, and get that spanking new euro import, oh you didn't realized thats where your union fees were going?) So the big 3,er 2(chrysler is German now, ok "joint US-German", but no one fusses about that) goes to mexico and other cheaper labor countries. no wonder ford(not all) are crap. Mexican vs American worker. no contest. the only sellouts are in detroit and the greedy union big wigs.
I think you are missing something here. Americans object just as strongly to outsourcing of jobs as they do Japan setting up shop here. I want government to make it very difficult to outsource any job that Americans will and can do. I would be willing to bet any manufacturer who has to pay tenfold the import tax would curb alot. I be willing to bet any foreign manufacturer would leave if they had to pay tenfold the taxes with no incentitives. I be willing to bet if Advertisers for Japan had to say..Japanese product..and had two Japanese men drving and grinning two tracking that tundra on America's back road..it somehow would not have the same effect as a big ole white guy driving the back road in a tundra..then at the end of the commercial they could get out and bow to each other and thank America for letting them in....

You make alot of good points, but when does it stop? Do we just get out of the car business altogether? Then in no time there will not be any American cars left to buy. If Americans just quit buying foreign cars and the U.S. cars made in Mexico as you say The American consumer can send a message to The whole Auto industry. The message will be that we are not going to be held hostage to foreign interests in our once proud auto industry. It is sad when people just say OH WELL, Toyota hires Americans so I guess I will buy one. That does not make sense to me. People ought to ask Where was this American car built and if it was not in the USA then I am not going to buy it. Eventually, The American companies will se this trend and change the way they operate. Right now we just go along like a bunch of cattle. The American consumer has more power than we give ourselves credit for.

There are very few dihard fans left out there. Thats too bad. You people must spend a lot of money updating y

Exactly..and the US should be putting the pressure on the Mexican government to employ and take care of their own people. We need to close the boarders until that happens and we can see that their people are working.Any one caught employing an illegal needs to be fined heavily and pay for their deportation. Canada needs to be told that no more work will be floated their way..There is not a single reason I can think of that makes sense. Our people are hard workers..we have intelligent people...we know how to build cars, toys, TV's..games..clothes..etc..it makes no sense to outscource jobs at all.

I don't believe he said he would rather get cars made in Mexico than Japan. In case you haven't heard, Hoffa has been pushing up daisies for many years now. So I highly doubt his garden fees are paid with Union dues at the present time. Also, if you think Japan set up shop here because they believe we have the best workers, you are way off the road. They are here because in the 1980's they had pressure put on them for equal trade and imposed higher import taxes on them as a result. They realized setting up shop here was a way around the import tax and still is to this day, which is for the betterment of Japan. Do not think for one moment they have the American workers best interest at heart.

Nascar Chick, you're right on. I have been reading these comments and it sounds like the same bunch of people that love the toyotas are the same bunch of "surrender under any terms in Iraq group". Sell America out first. The elections in November are an indication of the backbone of America.... non-existant! We are headed down a losers path. Pick your step carefully.

Maybe the toyota bunch would like to see an iranian/syrian driver? Hmmmm......... They already are familiar with toyotas in their homeland. But the race usually ends with a bang there.

And you can bet all those toy-toy's are imported to Iran/Irag for next to nothing directly from Japan..

Toyota in NASCAR,I found out about that while in IRAQ.Had to have been the worst news we heard over there! The waltrips should be sent to the land of rice and the rising sun to run carts and do the other fake racing sport of "drifting".Nascar is selling out,the history comes from bootlegging shine, not cooking rice,or bootlegging sake!
Waltrips suck

What difference does it make what type of cars they are running? I think this sport has bigger problems than that! Aside from the last 15 or so laps that was the most patheticly boreing race I have ever seen. What happened to drafting? What happened to this sport? Does anyone else remember what Daytona used to be like? Nascar just sucks anymore. Dont matter what make of car they're driving it's just boreing and painful to watch.

Hey Mindy, How in the hell are you? Hope you had a good day. Mine was not too good. Got stuck in a shitty stretch of river for TV and didnt get to see it and was too pissed to listen on the radio. But all the folks on here make me feel like I got to see it. What did you think of the Caution not being thrown at the end?
