Didn't I hear Toyota had about 5 problems with their engines this past week? They're hoping to have the issues resolved by this weekend. Could be interesting.

The comment about Chevy dominating is true but the main reason is the team or teams they have especially Hendrick. If Hendrick was with another make of car they would still be at the top of their game and winning races because of the drivers, team, attention to detail. If you take away the wins for Hendrick then chevy wouldn't have near as many wins. Its not so much the make but the team which is dominate at this time. Just look at Gibbs. They switched to Toyota and I fully expect them to win as many or more races now as they have in the past especially since I believe Toyota will spend more money than Chevy did. It wouldn't make sense for Gibbs to switch unless Toyota made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

You know, I have not heard this rumor at all and I really wish someone would post a link to this rumor of Toyota having engine problems because the ONLY one I know of was DJ saying during Bud Shoot Out Practice he had a problem with his but that was it.

It was on Speed during their 100 hours of broadcasting. I can only remember a few names.. It was DJ, JJ Yaley and Brian Vickers, I can't remember the other 2. It wasn't a serious problem but they were having them and said that they are trying to get it worked out before the racing starts tomorrow. If I find an article I'll post it.

Hollywood Hammond explained it with the cut-away engine last Saturday or Sunday.

Those powerful TuRD motors are have some valve-lifter issues or valve lifter and camshaft issues and it is specifically with the plating of some of these components, either lifters or camshaft lobes. I guess they were wearing at an abnormal rate and causing some valve issues with those TuRD motors.

I believe there were about five TuRD motors which suffered this problem during the practice sessions and maybe during the Shoot-Out.

I know our always-fast $10M Man (Ol' Fat Wallet/aka-Chopsticks) was one of those powerful TuRD motors which needed to be replaced with a new TuRD/Prius motor, for better "Sunday" driving by OFW!

Man this must really suck for you! Sitting in your American made ivory tower, What's up with Hendrick's Engines? Lifters! I seen the cut away, and I've worked on engines, On the cut away they showed Hydraulic Lifters these require high oil pressure to stay "pumped up"! Now they are saying a coating on the cam shaft or the lifters, this must be something new they are doing to counter the no-lead racing fuel? When we were taught how to rebuild engines the only thing you put on the cam lobes or the lifters was a thin coating of ATF or very thin oil like 3in1 oil! Now I'm wondering Do all these engine builders buy thier high proformance parts from the same manufacturer? I being serius here! I'd ask Rocky but he's not been here for a while! And if you seen my other post you know I'm out of the info loop! Has there been any Dodge or Ford problems?
