Dale Jarrett got to leave Robert Yates Racing.
ROBERT YATES RACING.
When was their victory? In 2005 with Jarrett behind the wheel. In 2006, Jarrett have NO victories and only one top five.
So he decides to go to TOYOTA who in three years after entering NASCAR gets a Truck Series championship and now DOMINATES that series.
Dale Jarrett is nobody's fool. Robert Yates racing has done NOTHING this year and they are still with FORD. The same Ford who has their cars made in MEXICO.
Jarrett is making more money for the same kind of results he would have gotten had he stayed put. His accomplishments as a driver speak for themselves he has three Daytona 500 wins with to manufacturers and two teams, and a Cup Championship.
He does not have to answer to fans who think they know better than him. He has made more history in the sport than the majority of driver that have competed at the highest level.
That justifies anything he wants to do.
Yes
I guess he likes going home every week . Looks like he would rather be racing...

I will make a tinfoil hat for you as well.

Check the F1 Standings, there is no rule for equalizing competition at all. Honda, Toyota, Mercedes, BMW, Ferarri and Renault use F1 to develop engines for street cars. Also electronics, transmission and braking systems. Paddle shifter anyone?

I agree CART and IRL are dreadfully boring as they are racing the same car! Racing is about innovation to beat the next guy not running the same set up.

Toyota is now a US manufacturer, they have enough plants and output to qualify. At least for NASCAR.

Sorry, NASCAR has been losing viewers and race attendance is flat over the last few years, why...the race is overly managed by the officials. It becomes less of a sport and more of a show. But, I do respect the drivers for their work, it is difficult I will give them that.

And Toyoata IS a US manufactuer ? I must have missed that announcement. Though I don't like some of the things Helton and crew have done, you're way off base (make sure to put back on your tin foil hat) with your comments. It's a sport. I refuse to go to a CART/IRL race because it is the most boring thing I can imagine. F-1 has similar rules to 'equalize' the entries. What happens is the car out in front stays in front unless he's a total putz or the car has mechanical issues. 200 miles on a 1.5 mile oval track running single file is worse than listening to a Michael Bolton performance.

No, he does not like going home from week to week, but he was assured to make races with Yates because he had the benefit of points when the season started.

From the start at Daytona MWR has been in a go or go home situation, just like RedBull. The problem is not with bad equipment, but rather developing equipment. Dale is no dummy. He may be upset but he is not neive.

He will get over this and so will the team. Reutimann is making races with cars from the same shop. It makes sense that his fortunes will change. He can still drive.

When will you trolls learn to read and do research before posting? Oh yeah, that's a skill a troll never masters because it's too much work to get the facts first.

#1- it's spelled TRAITOR you idiot. It's a simple word. Learn it if you are going to use it

#2- Yates let some management company take over his race team, they ran it into the ground. That's why Dale AND Sadler left and they are stuck with Gilliland and Rudd who aren't doing too much either.

#3- Dale went to MWR because Michael is his friend. There's NO $20 million involved but Dale has a stake in the company. After he's done driving, he will be in a leadership role there as a driver development guy. Something Yates wouldn't offer him.

So if you still want to call DJ a "traitor" after learning the FACTS, you need to pull your head out of your rear.

Hey moron, it's "traitor", learn to spell the words you are attempting to insult someone with. As far as him being a "traitor"..... let me ask you this: You are working for a company that makes a product. This product is good for a while. Then the company lets an outside management firm come take over the company, and they don't want to improve the product that you KNOW can be improve and HAS to be improved to stay in business. Now people are saying you suck at making your product suddenly because it's no good anymore, and the boss has no intention of changing the product to make it better. Would you stay if you had an offer from another company who makes the product, only better? No, that's what Dale did. It's not about being a traitor to anyone, it's about growing a set of balls and moving on with life.
In case you didn't understand my story, go read about Yates Racing, and why DJ AND Elliott Sadler left.
I knew you would set them straight! While reading those posts, I got very down to think that these poor folks actually believe what they said. I am so glad I watched Michael's program last year and listened to him. I might have been one of those who mistakenly believed it, too. But, I got wise. You helped me with all my questions, too. We may not have all the answers, especially that Hyder is gone, but we certainly know that Michael had nothing to do with that sh--in Daytona last February. I can still see his face when they were explaining that they had to impound the car to him. He looked worse than being in disbelief.

Terrific post, g, Hey, I have an idea...let's build a new car on the moon. Then, we can sell it to a Nascar team owner and become severe traitors ourselves! We have to give our car a cool name, though.

Hey Dill, see, Michael didn't need that crap Hyder did. He was 5th or 6th in qualifying with 10 cars to go. Hyder's a moron. He's working for Bill Davis.... pefect fit.... a cheating moron working for a lying moron. Too bad Tommy Baldwin obviously has a contract with Bill, otherwise I don't think he'd be stupid enough to have stayed. He's too good for BDR

I appriciate it. By the way, how many guys calling DJ a TRAITOR own something built by Sony, Toshiba, Akai, Samsung, Toshiba?

I have seen confederate flag stickers on the back of Toyotas, so don't get so high and mighty when it comes to "American made" and what NASCAR driver drives what.

The fact of the matter is, if I had a choice of buying a Lexus or a Lincoln at the same price, I would probably take the Lexus.

Until American companies make a better product, we live in a world that will buy goods from Japan.
People usually vote with their money. You can not force Americans to buy inferior American products, and you cannot force American-based racing teams from racing Toyotas. If you could, then half of the Craftsman Truck Series would be gone.

Write it down. In two years, some of you people will be begging NASCAR to dismiss Toyota because they win too much, and because every NASCAR driver will be trying to get on a Toyota team!

I know whoever put this topic up, was just trying to get a reaction, but of course Dale Jarrett was better when he drove for Yates, but you know you're gonna have these MWR shitlickers, who are gonna defend TuRD. Dale was finishing better when he had a Ford. Plus he owns a Ford dealership! His only fanbase are the same people who like MWR. Although I do think it was dumb pushing Rudd back out of retirement, DJ should have sucked it up and stayed at Yates. I mean: Vickers sucks, but he really always has, AJ is ok, but needs vast improvement, MW was better driving for DEI, at least he won 4 races including his 2 Daytona 500's. David R, is always crashing or finishing in the top? 30? DAve Blaney has always sucked, CAT was better with Ward Burton, and Jeremy Mayfield has always sucked really. And if these "fans" of MWR and Davis really think it's not the drivers, than it must be the cars right? What other excuses can they use? the japs have no right to come in and buy out that dumbass Brian France, and Mike Helton, MW, Davis, and Team RedBullshit. With their big bucks. I don't if that bland Camry is made in the US, the profits go straight to Toyko. Enough said.

HAHAHAHAHAHAH Fordman, you are a riot. Did you actually read what you posted because not a damn bit of it made sense.

First, you are saying DJ was running better in a Ford. Sure, you are biased but think Fordboy, his last win was 2 years ago and solely because Jimmie Johnson was a moron and took out the really good Dega drivers.
Fact is, Yates wasn't doing for that team what he should have. He let an OUTSIDE firm run the team. Where were they from huh? They could have been Japanese for all we know. When DJ and Sadler both told Yates to shape up, or they're shipping out, he did NOTHING about it. So they BOTH went through with their plans. Hell, Sadler skipped out early. Where's your bitching about him doing that and going to German owned DODGE? Yeah, thought so.
Yeah, they are going to be "better" when driving for the other ESTABLISHED teams. Are you stupid or something? Of course that will be the case. They have an established auto maker in NASCAR with established teams. That's a big fat DUH. Having some balls is going out there with a new auto maker NOT established in NASCAR with new teams and make something out of it. Michael & DJ have balls but it seems you don't. You probably have the same dead end job you've had for 20 years and will stay there even though there's no chance for advancement. Others in this world would rather take a chance with their lives and move on. Maybe you should try it.
The only team that is with Toyota now, that was ESTABLISHED before Toyota came in was Blaney's team, and right now he's the best Toyota because of that. So take your racist ass back to the trailer park, sip on another Schlitz Malt Liquor 40, chew your tabaccy, and stay away from the computer.

Yea take a chance of looking like an idiot, and being the laughing stock of NASCAR, yea thats the chance they took. Why do you think there are so many toyota (TuRD) bashers on here. Stop with the Burger King, and look at what people are typing. As far as my job as VP of Communications at International Diesel, I think I'll keep my six fig. job, and not look like a retard on national tv, like Mikey in his new gay aarons commerical, which is also stupid.
