Well, even though i have to say i wish he didnt go there, that'd be another DEI, excuse me, EGR diecast i would buy! I hate DEI and said id never buy another thing with there name on it after Jr left, but i just had to have a Mark Martin #8 just like i'll get a #5 Mark Martin diecast this coming year, but i like Bobby too and as happy as i'd be to see Bobby in a Chevy, he shouldve taken that fourth RCR car, he was a much better candidate that freakin sucky Casey Mears and RCR is a much better team that Earnhardt's team!
I lost alot of respect when Bobby re-upped with the Petty's cause i thought RCR could've done for Bobby what he did for Jeff Burton. Bobby still has it, he just doesnt have the equipment and even at Gibbs didnt have it. I dont know if this story is even true because it said that Bobby was goin to get part ownership in resigning with Petty Enterprises, but in his press conference he said that he got no ownership, so as much as i like Elliot Sadler and Reed Sorenson, GEM is a horrible team just as EGR is and the only way GEM would've gotten better is if they had been able to require Bill Davis Racing and gotten in the Toyota support, which i think in 2010, as ive heard rumored, will go to Penske, but whoever is a established team, whether it's Penske or GEM, could take off as Gibbs did because they are an established multicar team which didnt work in MWR, Red Bull, or Bill Davis Racing's favor and that's why they're struggling.
So the only reason i'd like to see Bobby in the 41 car is to see him back in a Chevy, but either in the 4th EGR or GEM car, they are both sucky rides and if im not mistaken both are unsponsored as from what i've heard, Target would be goin to Montoya on the 42 and Wrigley will be sending it's limited sponsorship to Aric Amirola which is a mistake on both parts as both suck! Target would be better off with Bobby, he's a better driver than both of those Affirmative Action seat fillers!

I'm very sad to see Bobby leave The King, but I know it's in his best interest, ultimately. I won't say what I think of "Mrs Earnhardt", but I will say that I think EGR is a step in the right direction for Bobby. CRJ is right about RCR, because that would've been the smartest decision. Being in a Chevy will make do for now^^

Well, as much as i hate to say it, EGR is right now the only halfway decent ride out there right now, but i hope Bobby maybe only signs a one year deal, kinda of like Truex Jr did, and maybe Mears and Labonte could be swapped next year. It happened a few years ago with Jeff Green going from RCR to DEI and viceversa that same year with Steve Park going from DEI to RCR, even though both of them sux as Cup drivers. Plus Ganassi really was fond of Casey Mears even though he sux too, so maybe Labonte gets shifted to RCR next year. And i dont like to say it, but if Mears was to start doing bad and that 07 car was to fall out of the top 35(as he came close to doing at the beginning of the past two years at Hendrick) RCR would have to consider if he could get Labonte, he could use his past champ provisional. Dont get me wrong, Bobby Labonte has more to offer than that, but if it's an excuse to get him to where he should've signed at and should've been, then it works for me.

I don't care what it takes hook Bobby with Jimmy Makar somehow!!!!!!!!!! Look what happened when Jimmy was a stand in crew cheif for Bobby when he drove the FED EX car and lost the win to Jimmy Johnson after now wins for a while. If he goes to DEI/Ganassi atleast he will be out of Dodge!!!

I don't think you have to worry about Teresa...showing up at races hasn't been her job for a long time. Chip is now the stand up guy for the drivers next year and I am psyched. It's been hard since BLab went to Petty several years ago to keep rooting for a car that never stood a chance. I'm hoping to see some decent racing out of him next year, if he does in fact go to Ganassi. I'm also a big fan of the JPM, Truex and Amirola.

I agree with you on Bobby being at the Petty's, as much as i USED to like the Petty's, i could deal with it alot better than if he had went to Roush, but i knew it was a lost cause a long time ago for the Petty's. I also know that around the time Bobby left, it was at the same time that the Kurt Busch/Penske/Roush/McMurray/Ga nassi driver musical chair swap was going on and that Ganassi DID NOT want to let McMurray go and at first Ganassi said he'd only let McMurray go if he could get Ricky Rudd or Bobby Labonte would take over the 42 Havoline car, which at the time the 42 car was much better than the 43, but Bobby made his decision and it was a very poor one at that.
I think, as i stated before, that RCR's 33 ride was the best fit, but i even think that Bobby would've been a better fit(and i think is a much, much better and talented driver)at Stewart-Haas than Ryan Newman, but i think Bobby had already done his deal before Stewart so i dont think that was ever an option. Ill give you that Bobby and Truex has some real talent and would be a great land for any team, but Amirola and Montoya are a complete waste. Amirola only has a ride because of Affirmative Action(meaning he only got a ride because he was a minority) and Montoya only was a publicity stunt that Ganassi pulled to try and show that an open wheel driver could succeed in Sprint Cup series, to me he's been a failure, i dont care what anyone else says. He only won that Sonoma race last year because of fuel mileage, same as Casey Mears, who i believe only has a ride because of his last name, and these guys have no business being in the Sprint Cup series. Neither was a threat for any race wins this past season, and really havent been since they won their races in the 2007 season. And it's truely a shame to see Amirola disgrace a number that Mark Martin and Dale Jr proudly ran and displayed with their names on the roof.

I remember that race, it was the Coca Cola 600 in 2005 and the waste known as Jason Leffler failed to make the race in the 11 FedEx car, so the sponsor bought Interstate Batteries sponsor for that race. I was pulling for Bobby until the end, but i believe that Interstate Batteries funding was so low, and Gibbs is such a loyal guy, that the money wasnt there to keep the 18 car up to par with the 20, and as was the case partially for JJ Yeley, although i dont think he was very talented either. Once they brought in fresh sponsorship dollars, as with M&M's, you see how much of an improvement the 18 car made. I think if i was Gibbs, i'd try and get Bobby back for the 20 car myself, but i also would love to see a possible trade of drivers after the season is over between EGR and RCR. Send Bobby over to RCR for either Mears(the most likely option) or Harvick(who's contract will be up next year). It would be great to see Bobby back in Chevy's, didnt really mind him in Dodges, just didnt like who was giving him the Dodge's to drive. I could stomach Dodge's moreso than Labonte in a Ford or Toyota.

I am exicted about bobby getting any ride in this current economy. And getting back into a GM product.

Bobby is a great guy and has been a tremendous competitor in the past. The key word here being "past". He's 44 and hasn't been in a competitive car in years. With the economy in the shape it's in he isn't going to get in one this year either. I hate to say it but his total worth right now is the fact that he is a past champion and can get a car in a race is necessary. Any of the teams that want to add a car either have everything firmed up including the driver or it's going to be a put together race by race situation. Sorry, but I think Bobby just turned into a stand-by driver.

Come on guys... Bobby is still got talent. You could put Jimmy Johnson in a car for Petty Enterprises and he wouldn't make it past 15th place in a race either. Petty Enterprises has always sucked, no matter who drives for them. When is the last time anyone won for Petty ? It was a bad move for Bobby signing with Petty. Gibbs starting dumping his money into Tony and the new Fed Ex team and forgot Bobby's team. Bobby just needs to get with a team that has a decent car.

Bobby Labonte still has talent. He just needs a good car and crew cheif that knows at least a little bit about what they are doing. Bobby basically was being driver and crew cheif in the #43. unless a marical happens and Gibbs can get him in the 20, he will land a spot in the 41. which should be a descent enough car. i hope. but for everyone who's says he is old and lost it.... i think your wrong. and i believed he will prove himself this season. i believe he will make the chase as well. thats my 2 cents worth.

Know matter what team Bobby LaBonte goes to I'll always be a fan. I hope he gets a good car and crew cheif and he will be back on the track as a winner. Good Luck Bobby!

I wish that would just make an announcement. The hold up is a sponsor Bobby wants to bring with him? What's that all about?

Well, it's been almost a month now DEI/Ganassi haven't announced anything and I think when they do, it will be to announce they don't have sponsorship and have scrapped plans for the 41 car this year. I also think the Petty/GEM deal is dead in the water. I'm looking for Petty/Boston Ventures to run the 43 in a limited number of races with Chad Macumbee with whatever sponsorship they can pickup. There will be numberous Cup races this year that doesn't have a full 43 car field. Teams that manage to survive this economic downturn, will be the powerhouses in the sport when the economy returns.

Labonte I think still has the goods. Wouldn't be suprised if he made the Chase next year. Petty's had no resources to provide Bobby and yet he still ran well, was in the Top 20 most of the year in a really lame ride. Whether it be in the EAG Targe#41 or some other ride. Bobby is still the man in in my book.

I look everyday for an update about Bobby.
Per NASCAR's website, the 43 will go to GEM next week. Why didn't Bobby go to GEM? Why would GEM put Almendinger in the 19, and let Sadler go (lawsuit imminent). Who will drive the 43?
There is SO MUCH going, and to be in the middle of the off-season is SO FRUSTRATING!!!
After all these years, I'm not sure I'll make it through a season without seeing Bobby!!!
