Dork?? HAHAHAHA.. that is funny..just because you might have had a hand in molding those tires does not mean that you should defend Goodyear.. they admitted that they brought tires that had never been tried, they admitted to changing the tires the week before the race.. that is rediculous! Goodyear is lucky that the drivers had the brains to not do anything risky involving hitting the wall and each other..if I had been at that race, I myself would dismount all my Goodyears and buy michillins because when they can't even go 2 wide at Atlanta.. that race SUCKS!

Seems like Goodyear has had years to "get it right". So what's taking them so long? It seems they are not listening to what everyone is trying to tell them. They just do what they want and give the drivers crappy tires and tell them to deal with it. When someone gets hurt because of the quality of the tires that's when they will wake up. They have to start listening to what the drivers tell them because drivers are the ones that actually know how the tires handle.

This is old, and I agree with Smokin...Goodyear needs to step up !

Tony hit the nail on the head several times ! Hoosier did a great job providing Nascar teams with tires when they were invited to compete. NASCAR, with its overload of wisdom, ran Hoosier out of the sport by demanding that they bring enough tires to the track for every car to complete the race. That is over 1200 tires ! Hoosier knew they had commitments from 7 to 10 teams and said they would bring 30% more than that, which was about 300 tires. As their sales grew, they would start bringing more tires, which was fair ! Goodyear paid Nascar heavily to make Hoosier bring tires they wouldn't sell, which was a BS decision I feel. Nascar.....don't make that mistake again, or you may see a flood of purple at the tracks instead of blue and gold !

Listen, the tires last weekend were horrible, but the blame needs to split equally between NASCAR and Goodyear. After all, Mike Helton has admitted that NASCAR told Goodyear which tires to bring to Atlanta next weekend. However, Tony Stewart isn't stupid enough to blast NASCAR, because they will penalize him if he does. Instead, he blasted Goodyear because he could get away with it.

The simple fact of the matter is that NASCAR should not try to run the same tires in both the Nationwide and Sprint Cup series. The cars aren't the same, so why should the tires be the same? If they make a tire that's going to withstand the amount of downforce and the coil binding set-up they use in the Nationwide Series, then that tire is going to be way, way too hard for the Sprint Cup cars that have approximately 400 pound less downforce and run on bump stops.

Exactly! They are 2 totally different cars. Can they change the bump stops any with the new nose on the COT? Several drivers were complaining that with the bump stops and hard tires, the cars were almost uncontrolerable (sp). They would bounce all over when they ran over a bump or a dip. I liked to old car better then the new COT. At least there was some good racing.
