I am surprised Mother Teresa is agreeing to this.

Anyway, it will be an exciting moment. I'll watch. Cheering him on usual.

She has no say in the matter, Childress has rights to the number not her. Don't you know even the basics?

BS! If he wanted to honor his father, he should have stayed at DEI and helped to make it a success instead of jumping ship when Daddy Rick crooked his little finger. He's just playing the sympathy card again to remind the fans that he's lost that he's still a poor little guy living in his dads shadow. Driving the #3 isn't going to give him more talent and who in the hell wants to see the great #3 running tail end Charlie or hitting the wall. Hope Richard doesn't let him make a habit of this.

Since there are two threads about this I thought I'd post it in both...

Wow... such hate... I guess people have a very short memory.. because Jr drove the #3 and won 2 championships with it in the Busch series ... so what's the big deal!!

http://www.nascar.com/2004/news/headlines/cup ...

Earnhardt Jr. won consecutive championships in the Busch Series driving the No. 3 in 1998 and 1999. When he moved up to the Winston Cup circuit the following year, his father was still using that number so Earnhardt Jr. switched to No. 8. That was the number his grandfather, NASCAR pioneer Ralph Earnhardt, raced.

Whether he should or shouldn't drive a car with 3 on it is something only he can decide. I just hope that if does, he's able to do well with it because there's going to be a little prick in a Toyota that will do able anything to keep him from it. He's always been jealous of the attention Jr. gets and has on occassion been vocal about it.

So who are you to decide it is different, you are a x Jr fan. So why should your opinion matter.

You know what's funny, ok actually sad, about your statement? More Toyota's are built here in the US than the big three are.

Why do you expect Dale Jr to drive for DEI when Dale Sr did not even drive for it?

Do you think Steven Wallace is living up to his daddy's name? He wrecks in about every race and has never won a nationwide race this is his 3rd year. I never see anyone yelling about him.
