Earnhardt told his crew the car wouldn't turn in Turns 1 and 2 and that it felt like something in the steering was broken. He told his crew he was coming in to pit right away.

Jr. thought something on his car was broken shortly before the halfway point of Sunday's race at Dover.

But when his team took a look on pit road, there was nothing broken, and about seven laps clicked away while he was on pit road on the green flag.

But after going under the hood, the team couldn't find anything wrong with the car, and several laps later, Earnhardt was running consistently fast laps.

"There was nothing to be fixed," a dejected crew chief Lance McGrew said afterward. "Nothing."

Earnhardt ended up 10 laps down in 30th, dropping four positions to 16th in the standings.

I think jr nation should get behind their boy and order up some of those brand spankin' new #3 diecasts, that'll make jr feel better, cause he knows that results on the track "don't mean a thing", cause he's Dale Earnhardt jr. and he lives in a world of diecast sales......

Here is the rest of the article:

"There's a bunch of marbles on the race track down there, and I was on the inside," Earnhardt told SBNation.com . "We got the green, and I hit those [marbles] and the car went straight. We'd been dragging the splitter all day in the corner coming off of [Turn] 4, and the car just went straight like it had a flat tire.

"We'd been so loose before that, I figured something must be [messed] up and broke on it. That thing drove like it was ... broke in half."

Thanks for posting the rest of the story which doesn't help his case what so ever.

That protion is excuses.

I guess he's the only one who was on the inside and couldn't handle his car.

So yeah, if you can't drive it, it must be broke.
Yet when they found NOTHING wrong with the car and changed NOTHING on the car he went back on the track and didn't have problems.

Hmmm.......

Did any of the other 42 cars hit those marbles, or were they just something that was unlucky for jr to be in that part of the track....

I DID read it. My point was that there was nothing in the story that, by it's omission, would make it more suitable for anyone's "agenda".

Well when your agenda is to tear down Dale Jr and you only post the opposite side if the story, that makes if fit your agenda. So why was the splitter hitting the track? Wouldn't that be some thing to fix? If the body of the car is hitting the track, the car sure as hell is not going to want to turn.I believe there is definitely a communication problem with that team.

Jim,

Even Lance was talking about the marbles yesterday. It happens. However, just here's some more facts that have been widely reported:

1.. Car was bad from the time it came off the truck. No speed, not good.
2.. Nothing Lance did helped the car get the speed it needed. Qual was horribile.
3.. Lance and Jr need to have better communication, even Lance was discussing how he needs to translate what happens in the shop to the track. Jr needs to stop letting his frustration override his feedback to Lance.

Bottom line, bad day at the track, it happens.

Don't know, don't listen to them. You'd have to ask those that ran bad, what their reasons were.

Your points 1 2 3 are right on. Jrs. cars are rarly even close when they come off the truck and his CC can not adjust them any better through out the entire weekend. They have only got lucky once.(TEXAS)

Agenda to tear down Jr?

How about he's tearing himself down, I mearly post facts and figures.

The problem with the team is the driver.

I bet Tony JR, would love to beat him to death. They have changed every thing but the driver and still run in th back of the pack. It is a good thing all his sponsors pay the bills for Rick H. He better take the money while he can before they get smart and quit spending the money on a person that cannot drive. I think he needs to be selling his T-Shirts and stay out of a race car. You know nascar needs cheer-leaders like football Dale might be able to do that.

And you get off on it. Admit it Weirdo. Why are you so obsessed with Jr.? You've never answered that question. If you really didn't care, you wouldn't bother. Or are things different in your Universe?
