Wow!

I bet Truex ends up at SHR or somewhere else come next year, or even this year if DEI doesn't make it.

That is really a shame. I wonder how many teams we will see this happen to in the near future.

Wonder if BPS is coming to SHR via the 39 car? Something to look for....I am sure.

I wonder how long it ultimately takes DEI to go under completely. JPM seems to be the only one doing relatively well on that team. I haven't seen much about Truex other than his Kidney stones.

It is rumored that General Motors and Richard Childress could end their support with only EGR
having 2 cars left.

20 employees was laid off and it could rise to 40 or 50.

Truex will now be able to leave, his contract states he must have 2 teammates and Bass Pro
shops says the same.

I guess EGR may be in for some more changes,,,,
Thanks goes out to Teresa for hoarding the 8 to park....It's a shame not seeing that car on the track......

Totally agree with blaming Teresa. It wouldn't have killed her to give Jr the # to take with him. He may not be running worth a hoot but at least the 8 would stay on the track where his daddy ment it to be.

I was wondering if this opened the door for Truex to leave. We'll see what happens, but it does seem quite realistic that cutting the whole org out will save money for GM and RCR.

In the end it's really sad that she let this happen. All she had to do was give Jr what he wanted. Now his father's team is all but gone.

Though this article says that no such clause exists.

http://sports.espn.go.com/rpm/nascar/cup/news...

That could be DEI trying to save face though. I hope Truex finds a home if this all goes to hell fast.

there was even an article about NASCAR in the WSJ today.. I am glad that Tony is a real racer who can still pursue his passion on other types of tracks in other types of cars if NASCAR goes under even temporarily.. but as I have already told you,, it will be a thing of the past once Barack sees the wasted fuel lap after lap after lap.. hey, maybe we can be like Afghanistan and use the tracks as arenas for beheadings and stonings when we go sharia!!!
people should have read the mans books before voting for such an uncapitalistic unAmerican to lead us into a Green future in which we lose so many freedoms..

Junior Nation said that they changed the contract about the 2 cars when Chip merged with DEI. We will just wait it out and see I guess.

I'm not much on rumors and the bullshyt the media gets started...

http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/story/9413570...

Just seems like Martin can't catch a break with the media.
The funny thing is, he basically told the idiot of a reporter he had no intention of leaving before the contract was up and was quoted in saying that, then the reporter goes "off the record" and without a quote says he knows his performance hasn't been up to par this season.

I think these reporters need to find better stuff to write about then stirring the pot on some stupid crap.

Am I the only one who thinks it's TOO EARLY IN THE SEASON to make judgment on how the year is going? He could turn the season around easily, but NO... these idiots are gonna sit there and wish he would leave like they did last year. Why is it that everyone is still bitter at the team and owner Teresa Earnhardt after all this time and they let that fuel their need to want Truex to leave?

I could easily name 5 drivers off the top of my head that are purely overrated. They go as far as to bash Teresa Earnhardt and STILL call her the "evil Stepmother."
The fact that people haven't let all of that crap go that happened over 2 years ago yet is just sickening.

You wanna know the toughest part of being a Martin Truex Jr. fan since everybody started hating DEI a few years back?

It's hearing this stuff, as follows...
When he struggles, his company is to blame.
His owner is the spawn of Satan.
He needs to go to Hendrick.
He needs to go to Stewart-Haas.
The merger is ruining his career.
AND after hearing that guy say that Martin is one of the most overrated drivers out there, that just did it for me.

This article, as many did last year, truly upset me.

Let's be clear, I'm all for stuff being said and rumors, that's all great and I will discuss that stuff with you guys fully. I think he could make some good moves but I think he's fine where he's at. EGR can make him a GREAT future.
But that's to be seen and up for discussion. I don't like to discuss rumors too much in detail cause it usually only breeds drama and I'm a no drama dude.

I'm just upset that it's went from team hate to people dissing my favorite driver. The overrated comment killed me. It just makes me sick that the hate turns in his direction and he hasn't asked for any of it, that's what pisses me off. He's been nice to the media, never complained about his equipment, and he's took all of this in stride, claiming his faults and being a good sport through all the bull that the media and the team catches.

That being said, I can't wait to see him get going like he should this season, it's still early and he's still in decent shape in points to mount a strong run on the season.

I'm not jumping ship on Truex as a fan, I'm gonna ride this season out and let it happen as it should! And no matter what happens, good season, bad season, new team at the end of the season, whatever, I got Martin's back through and through!

I'd like to know a few opinions, not so much about the article but if you agree that the media stirs the pot and gets a lot of useless talk started.

I'm sure Truex is a man of his word so he'd finish out his contract, but it's only for this year. So in reality, if someone did come along with a better offer, ie what Tony did last year, he'd move on and take that opportunity.

I have to say, it didn't seem like a great business move by Teresa to let Jr go. The team has been on the decline ever since. So there is some correlation there.

I think that with the way the economy is right now, if JPM and Truex don't really improve they might just have a problem. I think Truex has the potential to be a great driver, he's just at the wrong place.

Truex will improve and he's at EGR for the remainder his contract. JPM has improved haven't you been watching?

Yes I have been watching. There's no need to be snarky. My point is if he gets an offer from a team he feels would better suit him than EGR he'd take it. Like any smart driver would. Same goes for JPM. These guys do what's best for them.

Reality is, the both of them have to either pull it together and keep it together or sponsors are going to start bailing. Plain and simple. You may not like that reality but it is what it is.

At this point, he's hovering around the same stats he's had since 2006 when he started racing full time.

Actually, look at this:
http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/sprint/drivers...

Compare last year to this year so far. Same races, same team, same car. Same results. When is he going to get better by the way, because it obviously isn't happening with EGR.

Well I really think it was very disrespectful to the memory of Dale Sr. For Theresa not to give Jr the #8 . After all Sr specifically bought the #8 for Jr. All I have to write is Theresa dear never disrespect the dead . Because it has come back to bite you in the AZZ :) JMO

All I have to say is that Sr. has to be rolling over in his grave after seeing what Theresa has done to DEI. She as taken the entire organization into the crapper.
