Jack Roush has no moral high ground to make accusations, his cheating ways cost Mark Martin his only chance to win a cup title, can we all remember and say, Illegal Carb Spacer?

Roush had a fairly large HP disadvantage and approached Robert Yates about sharing technology about engines from the Yates side and chassis from the Roush side. Well Jack got his boost in HP and Robert got, well Robert got, what the hell did Robert get out of the deal.

Jack Roush got a bee in his bonnet when Toyota came in and perhaps would demand space at the NASCAR table thus depriving Jack and Rick time for telling Boy Brian how to run the show.

I have never had any respect for Roush since the way he treated Kurt when he found Kurt was leaving, do you really think it was just chance that the police officer was there as Kurt was leaving?

Now we will have to listen to Jack do his rendition of Charlie Brown about the enforcing of the four team rule by 2010, I can just hear Uncle Jack singing, "Why is everybody always picking on me".

Great to read this, once again. Uncle Jack hates those JAPs in JAPCAR, just about as much as wallbanger does!
Got to totally dig this great American racer, who has spent a life-time in American motorsports!
I never realized that Lee White was such a big cheater, according to Uncle Jack. We all know Lee is one, huge, TuRD-asshole!

WOOF-WOOF---for Benito-the-"bear"!
If there is anything I have learned on my Nascar journey, it is that even though Uncle Jack sometimes gets ticked at little things, like the swaybar incident, he is an honorable and decent man. He is "old school," does that make any sense?

This thing with Nascar telling him he has to only have 4 teams is ridiculous. They want the rule in now, fine, but Jack put 5 together a long time ago. How long has he had 5, Wallbanger? This will be going on my 3rd year into Nascar and he had 5 teams when I got here.

He seems like a very patient guy with his drivers and also gives the new kids a chance, or 2 or 3. He does not throw them out like some other teams seem to love to do.

You must get the latest issue of Nascar Illustrated! It's beautiful!

Oh, we know he hates Toyota. He made that clear. Can you tell me where I can find an article regarding Kurt when he was on his team? I was not into Nascar at that time. I understand both Busch boys were once with Roush?

After the Daytona 500 Newman race, I have a new found respect for Kurt Busch.

I think 2003 might have been the year Uncle Jack (my idol, Banger-Buds, don't you know!) went to the five-car team.
A couple years later, Uncle Jack places all 5 of his rides in the Chase, which was 10 cars that year. Of course, King Brian and Mafia-Mike change to 12, as Juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunior and Gordo didn't make it, that year. Soon, we hear that Uncle Jack will be down to 4 teams by 2010. One Ford Fusion will probably head to Yates for the start of the Daytona 500 in 2010.
No big deal!
When you add-up teams, at least for this year's Daytona 500, we have 5 Roush Ford Fusion, and 4 Yates Ford Fusions; as, it was announced, yesterday that my idol, Boris Said, will be running the #60 Sobe No-Fear Ford Fusion out of the Yates shop, for another entry to this year's qualifications at Daytona.
Goddamn----9 Fords, built out of one, race-shop (Roush/Fenway)! That is effin'......awesome!
Go Boris!

Thanks for the info. Was 2005 the year all five Roush-rides made the Chase? I wasn't real sure and didn't take the time to actually look it up.

Banger-Buds, as if those Jack Roush/Doug Yates Ford Blue-Oval engines are not already still holding-up, well, for a 1991 design, Ford Racing and my two Ford-idols-----Roush/Yates Engines have introduced the new, Ford FR-9 TuRD-Ass-Kicker!

Once, they get this engine onto the track, it should be running over a few Jap-rides, especially if they bring Gilly-back and let him drive, once again.

Word has it, on the street, that a lesser-team, like Woods Bros. will probably be one of the first-teams to test the engines, especially if several of the Roush/Yates cars are Chase-bound, which will all know, will be the case.

This will be Ford's first real race engine, as the current engine is based on their production 351 Windsor engine, in dimensions of the block and other parts. Since 1991, it has only had up-dated Robert Yates heads and induction added to the engine about 5 or 6 years ago.

That 18 year-old engine, on almost any given day, can still hold-up with the 2 or 3 year old engines of the other three manufactures.

In wallbanger's opinion, the biggest difference will be in the improved cooling of this engine. Ford will be able to run a little more tape on the front end, which will be a big advantage, which all of the other makes, current enjoy with their newer engines.

Rojo---those new Ford Mustang Cobra's are pretty sweet, for sure. Here is a video I wanted to share with the Banger-Buds, where they can see this car, in action. Wow, did you see that, it was recorded at Milan MI Dragway, where Jack Roush and his family race Mustangs every season. We can see that Jack is a total motorsports racer, and not just JAPCAR.

Great to see an American-car run like this.

Remember, last summer when POS tried his hand at a 1/4 mile. I wonder if Uncle Jack has ever banged any walls, like POS did, on the new NHRA-track at Lowe's. We know Jack banged.....a pond...in the P-51 Mustang, however!

Enjoy this video, Banger-Buds:

Dill,

Rousch has long been one of the biggest whiners in the garage. One thing you don't hear these days is chassis aero advantages each make has. Each make had a valance/spoiler size and he was constantly complaining ford was at a disadvantage. I think that plane trip chilled him out a little because he's not in a mic every week with a tissue box.

On a positive note, the guy is a relentless competitor and very successful. There is a reason why guys like martin, burton, bush, benson would leave.

Martin left because Jack would not provide him with a part time ride backed by a full time first class team. Roush sincerely believes the minimum goal to consider a season even partially successful is every car he puts on the track is in the chase.(Compared to being thrilled to back door in to the top 35 so you can take take the advantage of a testless off season to build your Grey Goose empty bottle collection). It's hard, if not impossible to do that with a part time driver. No indication of any ill will between Mark and Jack, its about the business of racing and winning.

Burton left because he got a (quality) primary sponsorship deal with another (quality)team. You may or may not recall that Burton drove a Ford for Roush it had no primary sponsor in the final season. There is no indication of ill will between Jeff and Jack they just could not put a deal together at that time. When that car was put on the track sponsorless who do you think foot the bill. Roush believed in Jeff as a driver and they worked together to keep Jeff's career alive when times were tough for him. Jeff has made public statements to that effect several times.

Bush left on his own accord looking for greener pastures - happens all the time. The move to Mopar is really working out well for him, his career has been doing nothing but rocketing uphill ever since leaving. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. LMFFAO

Johnny Benson - whatever, a really good guy but GMAFB, he never has been, is not and never will be a full time top tier cup driver - for any team.

Somebody keeps giving you those smileys with the tongue sticking out.

Banger, someone stole the glass out of my side passenger mirror. they didn't take off with the whole thing, just the glass. I rigged a piece of glass that I found at Advance Auto, but it is temporary because, of course, I cannot move the glass piece to any position to see. This just basically prevents me from getting a ticket.

Do I have to go to the Kia place and have them take care of it?

Any guys (like an ex-BF) you know handy who you work with at the hospital? We replaced one on my son's car.
I got a used one, at a recycling center for automobiles, for around $90 and we took the interior trim off the door, removed about three bolts, attached the new-used-mirror, and re-installed the interior trim, and it took all of about 10 minutes. It was even the same color and didn't need painting.
At the Kia stealership, be ready to cough-up around $150-200 for a new one and the labor to install it. I could be on the low-side. You can call the stealership and get an estimate. They will probably have to charge you to paint it, also. So I could be low!
Usually at a large junk-yard, you can find the same color, used mirror, especially those..."import-rides ", like a Kia, as they only come in just a few colors, to keep the cost down.
Dill, stick a Ford underneath that broken mirror!
Did you read about Joey Spaghetti, wrecking every body last night at Irwindale.

Ok, honey, I had a feeling it would be around $150 or something like that. If I get the car's checkup, they will bring it down. I have been taking care of brakes and oil changes and stuff like that one at a time. I have brakes that are so good, I almost throw myself through the windshield. I need a paint job. Hey, if I whine enough, you think I could get Rusty and the Nascar Angels to fix my car? I mean, they will already be in Daytona. Perhaps, I should go to Nascar.com and put my name in. What do ya think?

After the Daytona 500 Newman race, I have a new found respect for Kurt Busch.
The last year Kurt was with Roush and had already voiced his intention to leave at the end of the year, Kurt had made the chase. With one race remaining and Kurt was in the lower part of the chase, he was mysteriously pulled over by a cop and a problem happened. Jack used this as a reason to not allow Kurt to drive in the last race, it was funny and transparent because of the system 10th in points was the worst the team could do. If I am not mistaken Kyle Busch won the race that day and made the remark that the Best driver was not allowed to race.

I will bet that not too many people know how Roush got into NASCAR, he was running the IMSA Mustangs and one Mr. Junnie Donleavy approached him about building some engines for the #90 instead of the normal Bud Moore engines. Jack said OK and got to hanging around the NASCAR pits and people and decided he could build a race team.

I will tell you something...when that happened with the cop and Kurt, it was back in the days when I didn't know a swaybar from a crowbar, but from what I knew about the Sheriff in the area where Kurt was "taken in" and the story, I had a feeling of what really happened. Then, when the Sheriff had Kurt "deputized," I knew for sure.
Kurt got pulled over by a smart-alec cop who knew who he was. Kurt was known to be a bit more of a pain, like his little brother is now, and most likey said something not-so-nice, because he was innocent, he had not been drinking.

Sometimes, I guess an outsider or person who really does not know the personalities of these guys can see through the window netting. In this case, even though I didn't really "know" Kurt like the fans did, I knew he had not been drinking and driving.

That Sheriff is notorious for being mean and tough. He sure changed his tune in a hurry!

Thanks for stopping by!
