He took a calculated risk and lost, at least for the short term. I don't think the results with the #51 would have done anything for his career. I don't think Kurt Busch will do much better with it. Good equipment is just the starting point, it only gets you so far at this level.

I disagree. I believe Kurt will do good. he is a good racer. just his attitude. but hopefully he has learned from this. & be happy to have a job.

No doubt he can drive - he's a former champion. But when seconds are the difference between 1st and 43rd, you need the best setups, strategy, and pit crew. You also have to have good communication and chemistry with your crew chief and team. That remains to be seen.

David is going to be limping from this self-inflicted foot shot for a while, maybe a long while. Sometimes it's better to hedge your bet than going for broke.
