Skinner gets disputed NASCAR truck win

There are 7 comments on the St. Louis Post-Dispatch story from Sep 13, 2009, titled Skinner gets disputed NASCAR truck win. In it, St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that:

The results say Mike Skinner won the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Copart 200 at Gateway International Raceway on Saturday afternoon in front of a NASCAR-estimated crowd of 18,000. But if you talk to second-place finisher Johnny Sauter, he thought Matt Crafton, who ended sixth, should have taken home the checkered flag.

Who has wrecked more trucks to gain a spot in a race Hornaday or Bodine?

It looked to me and now sounds to me as both Bodine and Hornaday got exactly what they should have expected by trying to block. Crafton never altered his racing line in either incident. Both Bodine and Hornaday admit coming down to block yet they fault Crafton for not yeilding to their greed. I say Crafton got screwed by NASCAR. He had every right to hold his line and attempt to pass where ever he choose. Todd Bodine doesn't have the credibility to find fault with any other driver in NASCAR after turning as many drivers and causing as many wrecks as he has over the years. NASCAR was just pissed because they had to red flag the race and decided to make Matt the scapegoat.

That 33 did the unquestionably stupid. This is the same racing techniques we've seen played out everytime a short track pass is attempted. If you're leading and u see a nose peak out, down low, you better be absolutely sure you're clear if you try to block, and even then, you hold on and pray you don't get much impact. You go to the low line just hoping that guy lifts, you risk spinning yourself.

This is from a huge Gordon fan who's seen a 24 spin himself, I blamed Gordon - who was indeed in the wrong. Nose underneath ya, you give the room or wreck your car. Basic concept, just obey the rule.

Crafton should have got his tail feather's pulled for passing truck's on the restart before he got to the starting line..Nascar let him get away with that one. I will be glad to get Mikey back in the booth. Benson puts me to sleep...The next truck race should be very intertaining. The crowd all seemed to think it was Crafton's fault..They were cheering preety loud when he got the black flag.....
