Earnhardt Jr needs to change teams

I am going to express this as frankly as possible. The Dale Earnhardt Jr and Hendrick Motorsports experiment is simply not going to work out as planned.

i agree, if Jr wasn't the greatest driver ever, that team would be 45th in points and struggling to get in the race. that goes to show people how great of a driver Jr is when he can take a 40th place car and finish 22nd in it. he needs to go somewhere that has better equipment besides driving for someone who has the sorriest equipment in NASCAR history

Let him change teams/crew chiefs/manufacturers every week, and lose with all of them, until he has exhausted all the possibilities. At that point, even the most obtuse of Jr fans would have to admit that it COULD be the driver, right? RIGHT?!? Sigh, yeah, I guess we're just going to be stuck here, buried up to our eyebrows in Jr, Jr, Jr 24/365 until he finally has the grace to retire.

I look for RH to release jr at the end of the year so he can signed with RCR and bring back the 3 car.
According to NASCAR, jr sales are down and this would be a big finacial boost and since earnhardt fans need something new to purchase, this is the only logical scenario. There might be a race this year where jr might "back into a win" like at Michigan 2 years ago, but this isn't about performance, its all about the money and jr fans have proven in the past that they will buy anything jr.........poor souls..

Jr should just quit HMS and start his own Sprint cup team; but then who would he blame for his lousy results?

Lance talked about adjustability in the car before the race. There was none as Jr ran every possible line in the corners during the race and the car was slow. He had to lift the gas early and pick up the gas late. With the engine horsepower he was good on the back stretch(2to 3)and from 4 to 1. All the speed needed to run a fast lap is primarily in the ability to roll through turns. The #1 & #2 cars were the absolute best at this on Sunday with the #2 best on short runs (fewer laps). Therefore the #2 won on the sprint to the end. Driver and crew chief are hamstrung by the shop setups, i.e. the car chief, engineers and and chassis builders. The driver (Junior) has not forgotten how to drive nor has his will to win gone away. At least this car was marginally better than the pig that they were given at Dover.

Now who can argue with that!!!......and that was the same thing that happened when he was at DEI.

Funny, the other drivers seem to be able to work with their teams and get their cars to be competitive, but for some reason, Junior is hampered by the engineers that build the cars. Which, by the way, are essentially the same cars the rest of the field is in. Everybody has off days now and then, but with Junior he's consistently off but it's never his fault. This is the fourth season that Junior has been "struggling" with two different owners, garages, teams....yet we still keep excusing him...surely it can't be his fault...it simply can't be the driver.

When will the Junior Nation faithfull remove their heads from their sixes and realize The Junior is nothing more than a marketing tool for NASCAR?

NASCAR's PR department knows that all those moist pantied girls and "dumber than a bag of hammers" guys will continue to flock to the souvenir stand to buy the newest piece of "Made in China" junk that has The Junior's likeness plastered on it.

It sure would be nice if The Junior nation would learn to think for it self and not be lead around by it's nose.

But alas...what can one expect from moist pantied girls and "dumber than a bag of hammers" guys.

leave Jr alone, give him at least 10 more years to get use to his crew chief, engineers, teamates, car owner, tracks and weather. no need to panic yet

We all know Jr has a low IQ and the mentality of a teenager, but I wonder if Rick Hendrick has ever had Jr tested for Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD); Ritalin might be Jrs ticket to victory lane.

Reports say Jr. Earnhardt is no longer stuffing a banana or a rolled up sock in a front pocket of his pants to attract the hotties.

Well, not even Jimmie and Chad could get the 48 car to work for the 600. JJ complained that the car was crap from the get go. Tony Stewart, who had a great season last year, can't find a set up to save his soul. Mark Martin, who was the talk of the retiree set last season, can't find the right set up this season. So, are they all bad drivers too?
