Bowyer's car fails inspection, docked 150 points
#1 Sep 23, 2010
I remember stories when the cars were weighted in before the race, helmets, loaded with lead, were "left" in the cars to add weight that was actually removed from the car itself to make the car lighter than the scale said. Cheating and bending the rules is as old as stock car racing itself. It doesn't excuse the behavior, and kudos to the officials to trying to keep the playing field level.
I miss the old Grand National Stock Car racing days when the cars were really road cars, and not just race cars with some sheet metal on them that sorta/kinda look like the road cars they are supposed to represent.
