Steve, not having free spirits never harmed anything. What is wrong with NASCAR is shown in what IS NOT happening --- We're not seeing 40-plus lead changes a race anywhere other than the plate tracks - there'd be no criticism of the the "cookie cutter" tracks if 40-plus lead changes were the norm there.--- We're not seeing new winning teams - there has not been a new winning team since 2002.--- We're not seeing the comeback of teams like Petty and Yates to victory.--- We're not seeing any kind of fiscal restraint in the sport i.e there's no spending cap.--- The sport has become too predictable. Give us back 40-plus lead changes a race; give us back Petty, Yates, etc. to victory; give us new winning teams.

The outrage here is that Talladega Superspeedway has the gall to ask 125,000 good, decent NASCAR fans to actually do "The Chicken Dance."
