WOW, still out there making it everyone's fault but the Jrs. Didn't see one thing in that article where Jr. should have taken responsibility for some of the crap. Makes Jr. look really stupid. "If Tony Jr. had set the car up correctly even a cave man could drive it." Jrs lack of concentration and talent played a big part in the mistakes made. They are not the best team in the sport. They probably belong to the company that has the best teams in the sport right now, but the 88 team isn't in their league and they will continue to prove that EVEN with Tony Jr gone.

Funny, that when Tony was crew chief for Brad last weekend, Brad came up through the pack from way in the back and got real close to the front before a wreck (that he did not cause) put him back again.

Even with the new crew chief, Junior continues to run mid-pack and stay where he comes out, he rarely moves forward very many positions on the track most of his advancement is in the pits (same as it was with Tony on the box) which shows us that the crew is not the problem, they get Jr out ahead of where he went in, but Junior stays within a few spots of that while the race is under green. Wouldn't that indicate that the team is good, but the driver is lacking?

And, if Tony is such a lousy crew chief, why did Brad do so well moving up under green, with Tony on the box? Brad did not finish well (due to a wreck that was not his doing) but he raced like a veteran driver, while Junior continues to race like a rookie.

It's many different things that factor in to a successful team. The driver, crew chief, car chief, owner, guys at shop building the engines and cars, and yes even the media. How would you feel if you were about to strap yourself into a speeding death trap to try and do what you love to do and be successful at it and here come the media "do you think you can win?", "what's wrong with you and your team?", "what do you need to do to be better?" etc..... It's not all the media's fault but they put too much pressure on Junebug because he is a Earnhardt. Give the man room to breathe and focus and maybe he and his team can figure things out.

cough.. cough**bullshit**cough
Apply that same logic to Mark Martin after he was also more successful than Jooniebooger in the "subpar" equipment at DEI too.
I call BULLSHIT on the excuses.
Face it, he's doing the best he can with average God given ability he has.
He will never be champion in this series.
In Busch he was driving for a cup funded team with Cup equipment against budget team.
Here in COTs it comes down to true ability and he comes up short. So be it

Then Explain How Kevin Harvick is doing poorly as well and in top Equipment, Face it, He's got talent, He's just had a bad year, so has Harvick, But I don't see anyone talking about his year.

See that is whats wrong with this country. No one takes resonsibility for their own actions. They blame everybody else. They sucked as a team, so what-it happens.

Hey AJ, got a question for you. Have you ever been to Indy? We were thinking about trying to go, they have a good deal on tickets, but everybody says it is hard to see very much of the track. I asked this question on another forum but got no reply. If you know anything about the track, appreciate the info.

Not only Harvick but nobody from the RCR crew have any wins this year and how about those 4 Roush cars, 2 wins from Kenseth.

As if none of the other drivers have the media chasing them around to stick a mic in their face every chance they get. You might be onto something tho, maybe "the media" is why Junior don't win, he don't want to be hounded by the media in victory lane.

So, are you saying that maybe he loses on purpose so that he can get the hell out of Dodge faster after the race?

BULLSHIT to your post! I wasn't making excuses. Jr. needs to perform better and so does the crew and guys at the shop. Media pressure does have an effect on him. Mark Martin? Mark Martin doesn't get half the media attention as Dale Jr. So BULLSHIT to you jack*ss.

No. Never been but if I had the opportunity I would. Don't know about seeing the track but it's one of the most prestiged races so I would go for it.

I've heard Jr. in an interview say that he and his team need to get things together and do better. Sounds like the haters and doubters are making excuses to insult Jr. and his fans.

Brilliant post!(sarcasm) Many of the drivers get a lot of media attention but NOBODY gets it the way Jr. gets it. If you say that, then you're lying. Jr. wins, media in his face. Jr. loses, media in his face. Jr. talking to buddies in pit area, media in his face, Jr. shows up anywhere, media in his face, Jr. performs bad, media in his face, etc, etc, etc..... He doesn't ask to have the media up his ass all the time. The media chooses to do so. Everyone wants to know what Jr. did, is doing, is gonna do, whatever. Nascar Drivers 360, when they had Jr. on it, had a part in it where Jr. said before the race he likes to be left alone and get ready for the race. He said he has to pump himself up and almost get mad about racing. So if he gets in the mind set he wants for the race and then 200 reporters are on him between the motor coach lot and strapping in the car, I'm sure that messes with him a little. Is it his reason for not winning, no. But it has to affect him. Not making excuse. Just stating my opinion.

I have been to Talladega as well. I found out that If you sit as high as you can and bring binoculars, it is ok. Also, the scanner is a must. The best as far as seeing everything for me has been Bristol.

I'm a fan of Jr and I've tried to figure out why he's not winning any races of late. It is disappointing, but I also believe there's high expectation placed on him because he carrys the Earnhardt name, but don't quite think he has the drive his father had. It's gotta be very hard for him to try to live up to his Dad's reputation in the racing arena. I see him making every attempt to drive "safely", not wanting to step on anyone's toes. And for some reason, he likes to drive up at the wall all the time. Can't figure that out. All in all though, He's a laid back country boy who enjoys his privacy. Jr is definitely more "mello" than his Dad was. Regardless of it all, he's still a favorite for many of us, and ya just have to love him for who "he" is.
