I like Carl Edwards. I like his competitive drive. I like his personality. I like his no-hanging-back attitude going for wins.

But, I don't understand why he feels he has to race full-time in the Nationwide series. He won the title in 2007, and has finished runner-up in points in '06, 08, 09, and this year. So why does he continue to run that series?

I heard this year that Carl was quoted as saying that he thinks of himself as a Nationwide driver who also happens to run in the Cup series (someone back me up?). He doesn't need the "practice time", obviously.

I can kinda understand doing it for the sheer fun of it, but the entire season??? I have to believe that it is taking away from his Cup effort.

Him and others such as Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Brad Keselowski, Clint Bowyer, and Joey Logano have dominated the series this year. Brad has had a stellar year in Nationwide, but has been but a blip on the radar in Cup.

I think these guys running a majority of the Nationwide schedule is hurting their performance on the Cup side. Please, someone stop them (NASCAR).
