For NASCAR driver Carl Edwards, Columbia more than home

COLUMBIA Nancy Russell loves to tell a story about a boy named Jacob. Two years ago, when he was 8, Jacob and his mom were at a raceway in Knoxville, Iowa.

Dang, its a good article but this writer reminds me of my late wife. She had to tell 15 stories to get to the one she was tryin to tell.

lol - she did take the long way around didn't she?

Her facts about Carl are interesting, and I especially admire his participation in the local charity. But for loving to tell a story about Jacob so much, she seldom mentioned his name.

And trying to compare a little boy hoping for an autograph at a regularly scheduled night of racing at a local hometown racetrack to hoping for autograph at a charity scheduled event is not at all the same thing. It is unfortunate that Tony did not have all afternoon to sign autographs for everyone that wanted one.

She would not have had to do much research to find Tony every bit as dedicated to fund raising and charity events. But, that would have ruined her story.

Long winded women mess up a good story.
