NASCAR overpolicing in case of Denny Hamlin?

Mar 11, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Ledger-Enquirer.com

That's the kind of effusive praise we should expect to hear from drivers the rest of the year, right? Anything short of that could lead to another shut-up-and-drive fine like the one levied last week against Denny Hamlin, who was popped for $25,000 for having the audacity to give an honest answer when asked to assess NASCAR's new car after its ... I think it is B.S. The more nascar tries to be a strict no nonsense sport the more stupid they appear. If a racer can"t give an honest reply to a question nascar wants them to lie and back their stupidity.

we, the nascar nation are some the most critical and outspoken fans there are. for people like myself, who base their entire weekends around watching nascar with friends and family, and engaging in heated discussions about our favorite drivers, we are just plum sick of the crap. we have had story after story of junk shoved in our mouths for the past decade almost. the daytona 500 this year was the absolute worst race at a restrictor plate track i have seen, right next to the fall talladega race a few years ago when the drivers seemed to take a stand against the bump drafting rule and rode around single file for the entire race. now we get drivers being fined for personal conversations, interviews, and opinions that do not conform to nascars way of thinking. i thought this was the motor sport of america, not a mini hitler f1 league. yes, this past weekend was pretty good. this car was designed to run on mile and half tracks. yes this car is going to take work. in 6 years, im quite sure they will have the bugs worked out, but with anything new, there will be complaints. there will be things to learn. they say they want personalities, but each fine, suspension, or what ever else they do, nascar sends a clear message to drivers. dont talk bad about anything or else. i know im not the only one who saw drivers giving opinions that seemed a little flaky this past weekend. so for all the drivers that wont, or obviously cant speak their minds i say this. go f yourself nascar. WE, the fans, who give our hard earned money to buy your over priced, made in china crap, who spend their vacation days to attend the races, who read and write the news stories and comments. who follow this sport with a passionate fever, have had enough. we are the reason you exist still to this day. if it wasnt for us, there would be no nascar. tony stewart can stand in pit lane and chunk helmets at people, but denny hamlin cant give an honest assessment of a race he participated in? we arent stupid. we can clearly see that the product wasnt that great. it hasnt been in a few years, and it doesnt seem like its going to change anytime soon. but hey, at least we know everything danica does. i wonder if in all her awesomeness, that if she said she didnt like it, would she be fined? hmmm... i mean, its really all about the ratings and the dollars right?

France has Danica coming up. He doesn't need anything else to keep the sport going. And look at Jr go again.. Probably the best 2 drivers in NASCAR...Keep dreaming France..
I don't even care if I watch the races anymore. Until a few years ago I use to go to 5-7 races a year and watched the rest on TV. I don't even go to MIS anymore and it's an hour away.
We all had a good look at Helton too last week walking thru the fan area. Just blowing people off with a wave of the hand and not signing anything.
