Just in, hot off the press. Crew chief, Kevin Hamlin and the car chief both suspended indefinately, fined $100,000.00 each and the driver and owner fined 150 championship points each respectively. How many times does NASCAR have to tell these folks not to mess with the body on this car. Building it out of sheet metal that is thinner than the specified thinkness will save some weight that can be put where you want it but is it worth it?

NASCAR has to fine the teams in order to try and keep their cash flow at an acceptable level. TV number do not look so good, there are even more empty seats in the stands this year, the truck series can not find a title sponsor and might disappear all together (we can only hope), they bought the abysmal and embarrassing Grand Am series, they sent money down the crapper to get their greedy hillbilly fingers on motorcycle racing, and quite a few of their existing teams are going to have to merge or drop out all together. Good for NASCAR! Maybe they should build another 1 mile oval to diversify the schedule. That would bring some fans back.

All the normal fines with the exception of the Crew Chief & Car Chief suspended indefinitely instead of for the normal 6 weeks.

Big, big violation!
