NASCAR docked Brian Vickers 150 driver points and fined crew chief Kevin Hamlin $100,000 because the Red Bull Racing team dipped its sheet metal in acid to make it lighter than required.

NASCAR keeps saying they are going to "rachet" up the penalty for messing with the body on the new car but suspending the crew chief and car chief, fines and points seem to be about the same for the last 3 or 4 violations. How long is it going to take for them to send a team home for what they find in the pre-race or totally disqualify a team for what they find in post-race? NASCAR is scared to mess with the sponsors apparently and the current method isn't working.
