Right, that's why all the series you mentioned are always on the verge of bankruptcy and you can rarely find them on TV. NASCAR competes with the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL in ratings and exposure. The IRL is lucky ESPN shows their highlights.
What about Dario Franchitti, Patrick Carpentier, or even Juan Pablo Montoya or Sam Hornish? They were the best open-wheeled racing had to offer, and they can't hang with the big boys of NASCAR. Or precious little Danica whining that she would like to be in NASCAR, but the schedule is too long and hard. Boo hoo. Sip your Evian and shut your elitist mouth.
NASCAR and stock car racing are the dominant motorsport in the United States and much of the world.
GET USED TO IT, YUPPIE FOOL.

Nascar officials are dumb, and some of the rules dont make any sence. The painted line marks the spot of the pit box therefor even if the tire is on the line he is still in the box. If nascar doesn't want drivers to pit outside of there box then they should not paint it as wide. And why the hell doesn't the official make them back up and start over instead of getting in the way of the pit crew on ly to hold the driver for a penalty lap. Every sport has dumb officials, nascar has alot.
Well, the rule specifically says that being on the line is illegal. Junior's crew have the responsibility to make sure they have the car moved into the box prior to doing the work. The penalty is too severe I think, but its intended to make sure there's no gray area for what it means to be outside of the box. Drivers do sometimes try to keep their car right on the line to make it more difficult for the people pitting on either side of them. In this case it wasn't, but NASCAR doesn't want to make the officials decide why the driver is pitting outside the box. In general I think rules that require judgement by an official will tend to be to controversial. It seems like a good thing to make the rule clear cut.

By the way, the lines are wide so they're easier to see. Painting them narrower would lead to more people not being able to stay inside the box, particularly at night when the visibility is already difficult.

I do wonder what happened to Jr this year. His head didn't seem to be into the race this year, he made quite a few mistakes and many cost him.

Racin is Racin and all you can say is that is Racing Not an intentional wreck... JR was just trying to get his lap back.. If your gonna run someone down to the line you may get turned around....Old Nascar Fan

All Jr does is ride on his daddys name. he isnt worth a damn and rick hendricks will soon realize this. vickers had the right to protect his line and block jr, who had no right to take out his back corner of the car and spin him in front of the whole feild. now what if a driver or a fan would have been killed. i guess that would have been ok.

jrs head seems to be up his rear so far this year. maybe he is worried about wr and the bouncer who was busted for drugs. maybe the police are watching it closer now or just maybe he is worried about the drugtesting that nascar is doing. i think they should do the testing more often so they do find the drivers and crew members who are doing the drugs. i guess alot of fans would be surprised to know what drivers are doing drugs.

JR was forced almost completely off the track by vickers. All jr did was get his car corrected and back on track. vickers was the one one forcin people off track when a faster car tried to pass him.i guess he figured if you cant out run em, run em off track. but as you see it dont always come out as planned. maybe next time a faster car tries to pass him he'll remember the lesson JR gave him. LEAD FOLLOW OR GET THE HELL OUTTA THE WAY. NOT LEAD FOLLOW OR RUN EM OFF TRACK!!!!!!!

YEAH BABY.... IT IS ABOUT TIME JR STOPPED BEING SO NICE ON THE TRACK AND STARTED DRIVING MORE LIKE HIS DAD.... PUT A FEW PEOPLE IN THE WALL AND MAYBE THE BLOCK PASSING WILL BE RETHOUGHT.... JUST LIKE MARK MARTIN SHOULD HAVE PUT KYLE BUSCH INTO THE WALL WHEN HE PUT THE BLOCK ON FINAL LAP. IT LOOKED WRONG FROM MY PERSPECTIVE, BUT AN OVERDUE STATEMENT WAS MADE BY JUNIORS ACTIONS.... SHOULD HAVE COME SOONER WITH THE PAYBACK TO KYLE BUSCH FOR HIS SUPPOSED "WIGGLE" LAST YEAR THAT TOOK JR OUT....
WAY TO GO JR.... KEEP UP THE ATTITUDE!!!!
PS GO DOWN TO CRYBABY VICKERS PIT AND KICK HIS A$$ THERE!!!

I agree that Vickers was wrong for blocking below the yellow. But still, Jr should have fallen in behind Vicker and not turn into him. I find it funny that he claims it wasn't intentional. To me it looked like he either did it on purpose, or he doesn't really know how big his car is. Since I know Jr is a good driver, I have to assume that he moved up knowing that he would spin BV out. It happens all the time, drivers lose their cool and do something stupid.

vickers and jr both were a lap down and fighting for the lucky dog so vickers had the right to block jr. jr was having a really crappy day and was pissy because he thought vickers should just move over for a earnhardt. well not all drivers are afraid of him.

you need to be INSIDE the white lines not on them, thats the rules, if they would of moved the car when it was pinted out then there would not of been a issue, instead the crew tried to push the offical out of the way.

Lets face in Junior is just living on the name, he just cant get the job done, and just crys and moans when things go wrong and he cannot get his own way.
This is a big year he either has to do somthing this year or he will become another big has been.
