NASCAR: Earnhardt doesn't see win in future despite his strides
Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s losing streak has reached 103 races - long enough that he's no longer guaranteed an automatic berth in the upcoming $1 million NASCAR Sprint Cup All-Star event.

Two points from this story: 1. maybe Jr isn't as dumb as we give hime credit for; 2. there's not a chance that fatso & fruitloops don't put Jr in the all-star race.

That's the whole point of the "fan vote" to allow one driver who didn't qualify under the PERFORMANCE rules to race. Whether Junior gets the majority of the fan votes or not (who would know?) NASCAR can tell the world that Junior won the fan vote and put Junior in the race. How many more races have to be run to near-empty stands and record-low TV viewership before NASCAR realizes that Junior is irrelevant?

Well Barnie, thanks for gving Jr the credit he deserves. Just face it, if Jr folds so does NASCAR. thats what your sayin aint it??? Wow, its amazing to me how one driver can have such an influence on stockcar racings future. Have you ever considered that folks just cant afford to go to the races? Have you considered NASCAR fans have lost cable or satellite due to not having a job and seeing tough times. NASCAR is suffering from the economy just like many other folks are. Putting the load on Jrs shoulders is not feasible. Its just a stupid comment from a stupid Jr hater. You guys keep grasping at straws, making empty seats and Tv ratings Jrs fault is about as assidine as anything Ive read.

I think your missing the point. The fact is fatso & fruitloops have turned NASCAR into something of a reality show, and Jr is right in the middle of it, he's their ratings ticket, or so they think he is. NASCAR is no longer about competitve racing, it's all about the TV show. Clown commentators, the COT (I do like those exhaust pipe stickers they put on the new Mustang, are those required by NASCAR to make the car stock), qualifying rules that automatically put 38 cars in the "show", rules and non-rules, really stupid rules like lucky dogs and wave arounds have turned off a lot of real race fans.
I don't know how much longer the Truck and Nationwide Series can survive, just look at the empty stands at Dover the last two nights; just wait for football season. Most of the time the winner of a race doesn't qualify for championship points; what a joke.
