That must be why I miss the point. I don't really put her on track and off track things in the same mix. If she's a successful driver and a sexy model - those to me are 2 separate things. I dont care how much off-track stuff she does or how well she does it. It all boils down to a hottie in a car driving her ass off and to me thats all that counts. It's THAT story I'm interested in and nothing else.
Actually, her looks only make her more appealing to see in interviews, so bottom line is 'semi successful female open wheel driver coming to turn laps in NASCAR.' It should be more entertaining than Shawna Robinson, don't ya think?
Using your criteria, it will depend on her performance. I hear that she will start with an ARCA ride next Feb at Daytona and then the powers that be will determine if she is qualified to run a Nation Wide car at the same track. To be honest, I just do not think she has done all that well on a consistant basis, when you take into consideration the quality of equipment she has had. Time will tell and I hope she does well, I just am not sold on it.

Look her in the eyes and tell me that the first time a good old boy taps her on the ass and sends her into the wall faces first that she won't run backs to go-karts.

Plus I think it's just a little more safet in a car with fenders going considerably slower than a family car with fenders and complete roll cage.

Please take Ron Jeremy out of your Rear Southerly Oriface so that your sentence will be understandable.

Those "go-karts" will make your Car of Tomorrow look like a Rambler.

Without comparing them to anything, the COT DOES look like a Rambler. Because a driver is very proficient in one type of car does not mean they will automaticly be proficient in all other types of race cars. Does anyone doubt that Steve Kinser is the King of Sprint Car racing but do any of you remember his disasterous attempt at driving in NASCAR?
"In 1995 Steve landed a NASCAR Winston Cup Series ride as Drag racing legend Kenny Bernstein hired Kinser to drive his #26 Quaker State Ford, but released him after only five starts after a best finish of 27th and average finish of 35th. The idea of bringing Kinser to NASCAR was due to Jeff Gordon's success in sprint cars and midgets and bringing in one of the series best drivers would translate the same success." Courtesy of Wikipedia. Danica has every right to race in whatever form she desires but has the responsibility to understand her status in open wheel will mean absolutely nothing to other drivers in the Nationwide series. The whole world knows without even having to ask, that she's going to get a ton of cash to do this, far more than she could ever win in Nationwide racing. This fact alone, is going to cause some silent resentment and it will show up on the track very quickly.

Excellent point.
My statement was a camparason of cars, not drivers.
One thing that really makes me laugh is the statement that NASCAR drviers are the best in the world. I can see from your comment that you understand how foolish that statement really is. Just because a driver is tops in his game in one type of equipment does not mean he will tops in a different type of equipment.

Those "Go-Karts" are a far superior race car on any track then the POS COT. Put them on the same track and it would be embarrassing for NASCAR.

One of those 'go-karts" would lap the COT in about 12 laps. If my math is right (have to leave my shoes on...at work now) in a 500 mile race, the Indy car would put the COt down 16 laps. Unless it's The Junior driving the COT, then the COT would exit early with a blown motor.

Not if NASCAR was controlling the race. Every time a POS COT was about to be lapped, a fake caution would come out. Between the fake cautions, the dopey lucky dog rule, the Indy Car getting bogus pit lane penalties; in the end NASCAR would make sure the COT would win the race.
