Yu your right, I said all celebs should do it for free that means freebi. They should go and visit those who have the courage to serve for room and board, my mistake.
As for 8541 MOS, everyone claims to be a sniper, proof is in the pudding, easy to check.

Mine are easy to find since I started with a real service number, but here's the list 0311, 0321, 0369, 0411, 0491, 9999.

I find it amazing how completely polarizing this issue has become on here. I don't mind the military... Any military sponsorship of the vehicle... That's a recruiting cost. But, for the driver... ANY DRIVER, or for that matter ANY CELEBRITY to accept or demand payment for visiting the troops is a sacrilege! Aren't these people already making enough money!? I could understand money for room/board/transportation. But not for showing the homage due our men and women in our fighting forces. These people, like it or not are defending our freedoms. While you may not agree with the reason why we are overseas in ANY region, but it is not the fault of these brave boys and girls who VOLUNTEERED... Yes, VOLUNTEERED to join the military knowing that they may be called to action anywhere in the world. We are indebted to these people. And it seems now, that some think we should be indebted to celebrities as well.
Celebrities entertain us, and most of them get paid quite nicely for that privilege. Our actors/actresses, sports stars, comedians, talk show hosts, and yes politicians... You name it. These very same people who condemn our troops as "baby killers" "murderers" or what not, need to realize, it is because of the actions of a few damn good men and women, that they have the right to talk all that sh!t!!! And it is my humble opinion that they should give back to our fighting forces freely, since our forces are knowingly offering their lives to protect the freedoms that we hold so dear!
Thank You! this is what I've been trying to say all along.

Hey Les2 I did some research on this, And the Navy was sponsor's JR nationwide driven by Brad. But they Navy thought it would be better if they had Jr participate in a few things for them, like Commercials, appearances for possible recruits that might join in the Navy. It was not for Jr to go visit the troops. and thats why the navy said there first deal for for sponsorship of the 88 car not Jr. there deal was with JR motorsports and hendrick.Im sure you wont believe me but I decided that I needed to find out the truth so I emailed the Navy Recruit office, and it took some time to go thru the channels but finally I got a response.

You know if thats the case why did they take down that link?
They should have made it more clear as to why he was getting paid this fee!

So he is getting paid for apperances for recruits? In the article they said it was for troops. There is a big difference between the two!

Maybe thats why they took it down because I called and questioned the article. But it was my understanding that it was a media persons article not directly from the military.(thats what I was told) And I agree with you that its two different things all together, but I wanted to make sure what that money was for.
