Brad Keselowski competes in the NASCAR Nationwide Series for JR Motorsports. Jeff Robinson NASCAR Scene If Brad Keselowski goes to a non-Hendrick Motorsports organization to drive in the Sprint Cup Series, he likely won't drive for JR Motorsports in the Nationwide Series, JR Motorsports co-owner Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Well, ill say, im a Dale Jr fan, but not a Brad K fan. I think he's been overhyped just because he drives for Jr so im hoping that he does end up at Penske. But you have to look at it like this, from what i hear, every driver from what i know has the old philsophy, if you have the opportunity, you better jump at it. That is what kept being said when there were questions thrown at Logano about being thrust to Cup so quick. He said he would've like to have stayed in Nationwide another year, but the opportunity to drive the 20 car, he just couldn't pass it up.
Same with Brad K. You have the opportunity to drive for Penske in a team that has shown a boost in horsepower, and if you look how well Sam Hornish has improved, and the history that 12 Penske car had with Newman behind the wheel, he lucked into passing on it last season, he can't do that again.
When he started the season, he walked on eggshells and i guarantee he questioned whether he should've passed on that 12 car. He was on the hot seat, just as he, Jr, and Hendrick all stated at the beginning of the year. I dont know this for sure, but maybe Hendrick talked him out of signing with Penske last season. Maybe he promised Brad he'd replace Mears in the 5 car, maybe after Mark was signed, he promised Brad would split the car in 2010, maybe after Mark decided to come back, maybe Hendrick said that Jeff Gordon, because of his back, might get out of the car after this year and too old off. Bottom line, how long can Brad K keep waiting? Granted Hendrick is the best equipment in the sport, but i dont think he wants to risk starting the next season just driving the JR Motorsports car on eggshells again and he says he's ready to Cup, maybe he feels he needs to jump while the opportunity is still there.

There's nothing overhyped about Brad. Give him something half decent to drive and he can go with the best of them and he'll darn sure jump on an opportunity when one comes along. Ask Shrub. Roger Penske couldn't certainly use a driver of Brad's quality. He doesn't have much to brag about right now, one Busch and a couple of wilting weeds.

First off, as much improvement that Sam Hornish Jr has shown this year, he is NOT a "wilting weed" as you so obnixiously put it. Brad actually was holding out that your driver, Gordon, would hang it up, but he's not and Brad has to go elsewhere. Granted, Keselowski lucked into a Cup win, but his future, whether at Penske or Hendrick or anywhere else it is, will be shortlived. And also, if he's such a great driver, then why did Tony Stewart not even consider Brad K when he considered starting a third team. Apparently he only had interest in Harvick and Kahne and was said to not even was willing to even give Brad an interview, that he had absolutely no interest in Brad whatsoever. And if Hendrick was so in aww of Brad K he wouldn't of signed Mark Martin back this season, let alone would've given Brad the seat of Casey Mears after last season. Brad is an overhyped driver with very little left to accomplish.

Yeah I agree about the overhyped thing. I hardly think the kid is overhyped. He's been doing quite well and the media isn't ranting and raving about him like they did Joey. Wherever he ends up I hope it is the best place for his talent.

Penske pretty much has landed Brad K. Has probably replaced David Stremme and i will be tickled to not have to see Brad K and Dale Jr teammates in Hendrick camp. Told ya it'd happen.

There's noting over-hyped about this kid. He's been the most consistent non-cup driver in the Nationwide series the last 2 years. He would probably have a championship without the Cup regulars competing the whole year. He's earned the attention he's getting and deserves, at this point, to be sought after. Who knows how he'll work out in the Cup series. Time will tell.

Wow, overhyped. Brad is a talented young driver. On the other hand if you would like a good definition of overhyped take a look at the car owner that Brad drives for in the nationwide series.

Yea, well at least Dale Jr backed it up if you look at his stats. I think it's stupid and ignorant that some suggested Brad K needed to replace Dale Jr, on what grounds? Let's look at Stats, Brad K, lucked into one Cup win at Talladega, a race where Jr has five wins, Brad K has five Nationwide wins in two seasons, Jr has like 22 and two Nationwide Championships, both in his first two years. Brad has better equipment than Jr did when he won his, and Jr did more with it, same as Truex Jr did. Brad K in the end IS overhyped, not Dale Jr. I say good ridance to bad rubbish.

It's to me like Brad has had better finishes in the Cup races he's driven in than Jr. most of the time. Glad to see the nation is still in denial. If anyone should know the definition of OVER HYPED, it's the nation. Hope Brad takes off next year, just like Kyle did as soon as he got clear of Hendricks.

I'm sad. I like Brad and really wanted him to be in a Hendrick car. Did anyone read what MR H had to say about him????? LOL. If I were Penske, I wouldn't have liked it.
