Good article, and this really is the elephant in the room, isn't it? Nascar could have added 20 drivers to the Chase, but w/o Tony it's just not the same.

Whether you like him or you don't, Tony Stewart is good for Nascar. He is sorely missed. If Nascar thinks Jr gets fans excited, wait for Daytona and see the fan reception Tony gets!

Good article enjoyed it. I enjoy watching races so much that I would make a point to be home to watch. It is just not the same now that Tony is not in the #14. I enjoy watching him inside and outside the car. He usually does or say something that makes me laugh before or after a race. Then the races starts and no Tony to watch race. I must admit that I like to see if Tony had a girl with him during the prayers. I know he had a slow start this year but I never gave up hope no matter how far back he was that he would find a way to get to the front. He's exciting to watch now the races are not so exciting. I guess to sum it up these are the reason for me that I enjoy Tony so much he says what he thinks, does what he likes to do most race the Hell out of the car and is fun to watch! Daytona can't come soon enough.

Good story. I think Tony needs to look for a new CC. The only time the 14 has looked strong this yr. was Dega & Zippy was the CC. JMO

I hope so much that this accident and injury does not effect the way Tony drivers in the future like injuries have effected so many other drivers. I have thoroughly loved watching Smoke race from the day he came to NASCAR. He has always been that self-embodied character that asked no quarter and took no prisoners. Dull isn't a word that you could ever use in describing Smoke. I'm looking forward to Smoke coming back.

I am hoping Tony has recovered to the point that he might be at Homestead in the commentators booth. I think that would really liven things up. A lot of times the "fan" in him comes out and he tells Nascar and the media what we all would if given the chance. It would also be nice if he could be there to support Ryan - he may be the only friend at SHR Ryan has.

I hope there are changes next year on the 14 team too. IMO, he has needed a good cc ever since he let DG go.

I'm really looking forward to his return. He must be like a caged animal not being able to get out on the track.

I am enjoying the racing. I think it has been great...l miss Tony, but am glad he is not trying to get media time himself...I think he is going to make Certain that he will be race worthy come Daytona. But Seriously, it is Awesome that Tony has this opportunity to focus On SHR.

The people most affected by Tony not racing are the owners of the fast food restaurants around the tracks.

Yeah it is but Slick Johnson can handle it. Anybody as hairy as Smoke that could handle being hot waxed for charity can take a few jokes about his waist line. He's that tough but has about the biggest heart in motorsports.

Agreed if not mistaken I believe I heard him make jokes about his size himself. If you can make jokes about yourself you can take a few jokes. He does have a big heart you hear a few things that he does for charity but I am sure there are plenty of stories you don't hear. He really seems to help hurt or older drivers and kids. I think not positive that he and Harvick were helping Morgan Shepard get parts for his car to he could still race (a few years ago not sure about now). Is this correct?

I don't think there is anyone on this earth who appreciates being made fun for being heavy. Just like I am told I am skinny; I don't appreciate that.
