I find it hard to believe that a man with the character of Jeremy Mayfield intentionally ingested anything that would jeopardize his racing career.

Being from Owensboro and having met and talked to Jeremy's mom over the years, I have to admit that I have followed and supported Jeremy for MANY years. A great guy who has had more than his share of bad luck. My favorite race ever is when he gave Dale Sr the boot at Pocono. I find it almost impossible to believe that he was taking hard illegal drugs but Mr. France has implied as much. If this is the case, Jeremy has thrown away a career that others would kill for. In fairness to the other drivers, France needs to reveal the substance that was discovered. If was the hard illegal stuff then so be it. Jeremy is done, finished. If it was a substance that was legal but taken in higher than recommended dosage, then the other drivers will know what caution to take if they are faced with taking ANY KIND OF prescribed or over the counter drug. On the other hand, it would be a class act on Jeremy's part if he were to call a news conference and reveal the results. this would take away the confusion and give the other drivers an explanation that France will not provide. Jeremy can also apologize to his fans, especially his supporters overseas in the big sand box. I still support Jeremy and hope he moves forward to clear this mess up soon. Best of Luck to you Jeremy.
