Daytona disaster aside, would Monday night racing be a hit for NASCAR?

But if the folks at NASCAR are as smart as they think, they'll chalk up the fiery explosion that made it an unbearably long night to bad luck, then forget about the storm clouds that postponed the start by a day - and look hard for a silver lining.

I refuse to allocate the time for a full NASCAR race. If I can find the estimated race start time I tune in then and avoid all the pre-race baloney. After the 2nd lap wreck I turned it off. Not sure haw long it took them to clean it up but even 5 minutes of Larry Mac, Mikey and Darryl Waltrip is too long.

F1 can't get here soon enough for me.

Most of my employees are useless for a week after they come back from Daytona anyway......might as well be Monday night.

Sorry but ALL the night races need to END by 10:30 Eastern time regardless of red flags. Any later and people will fall asleep.

If the racing is on a work night I'll just DVR it and watch it on MY schedule so I can skip the commercials (pay attention advertisers!) and boring parts like the pre-race hour plus, LOL, and save myself a couple hours or more to do something else!

I can't stay up after 11:00 when I have to get up the next morning to go to work. Maybe their target audience is unemployed and can sleep in! Maybe they don't care about the east coast and only want westerners to watch?

And once again for the 4th year in a row, the Disaster 500 was once again a disaster!

NASCAR should have called the race after the jet dryer thing & none of the crap would have happened. But they were hell bound determined to make sure a baddie won, & low & behold it did! Especially with Kenseth's idiot teammate Stenhouse causing the last 2 wrecks, both big ones, & after the jet dryer disaster.

Everything in play should have told them it would end in disaster & it did in every sense of the word!

Actually I think they might've called the race after Montoya hit the jet dryer if Dale Jr was out, but since he was in front and had the chance and was on a major losing streak, What no better place to end it than the Daytona 500. But Matt Kenseth kept his career tradition of raining on Jrs parade up. Trust me, if they had called the race with Jr in the running, it would've been all over twitter and other sites like it saying "Nascar screwed Dale Jr" I find it strange how a driver that is still riding his daddy's legacy is the face of nascar pretty much dictates the decisions.

I'm just greatful that they opted to continue the race so I could at least see some of it since it was rained out Sunday (when I initially planned to watch it) and I was busy most of Monday.

Right on! Even with Jr running an illegal fuel injection system and all the BS, NASCAR could get Jr into the winners circle. Oh well there's always Talledaga and the next Daytona race.

In my rankings, Jr. isn't a baddie... so NASCAR would actually not help him win.

I don't really have anything against Dale Jr, Kasey Khane or Ryan Newman, but the main 3 I get sick of hearing about are Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, and Jimmie Johnson...It just makes it hard to pull for guys that are teamates with my most hated drivers.

If one of your Nascar Dozen signed with Roush, would you boot him?
