My kids and I were at the Speedway on Saturday morning (4/21), and noticed that there were about ten NASCAR cars on the track. We saw the 8, 88, 42, 39, and 24 cars on the track. Others too... I guess they were testing/practicing then also. I was surprised to see them practicing in Indy because the Phoenix race was later that evening.

"Get a clue" - you need a class on class and how to be nice. That comment was very uncalled for.

I'm glad to see Nascar here in Indy at the beginning of the month of May.

The foolish, self annuling IRL annoyance will soon be over.

Don't kid yourself and think this isn't the master plan of the France empire. Tire testing right now in these conditions has NOTHING to do with fact gathering fo a race at a later date.
It does however have everything to do with a gentle nudge which will develop into a strong arming by the France empire to the clueless Tony George that Nascar will soon own Indy on paper.
They already own Indy, otherwise.
Once the France empire crushes the Hulman George family into further obscurity they will own IMS.
AND when it's all said and done, Nascar will run the Indy 500 as a Nascar race and it will be run in May. Tony George is too busy with his little minor league racing - ego gratification project to see the writing on the wall.

The Nextel Indy 500 in May is the ultimate goal and it is right here, right now.

Hey Master Plan, the France family is not worth a then of the Hulmans. You forget it was only 4 years ago when you could pay for anything at the Indy 500 with a credit card or check. All cash for how long?

Indianapolis 500? They still have that event? I stopped watching that charade years ago when they started using foreign engines, little foreign guys who used to drive go carts in South America or Europe started dominating the field. It is nothing more than a glorified go cart race.
If George wanted to bring any respect back to the 500, he would make it a USAC Silver Crown race car event. Drive one of those beasts around that track for 200 laps. I really doubt if Danica could do it.IRL has become a wimp racing league.

Why didnt some poor team get to tire test. That would help the small guy.But no NASCR does it again.Help the big teams. They have a hard time making the field.

Rusty Wallace tested and IRL Indycar on the Daytona road course last year and reported that it was the most physically demanding thing he'd ever done in a race car.

As much as the Kool-Aid chuggers can't stand the thought of it, I believe you are correct. Tony George has destroyed the Indy 500 and it no longer matters to the racing public. The Indy Racing League has failed miserably and all that is left is Nascar's final power play.
A friendly boardroom takeover, and what was once a grand and glorious event, will go out not with a bang, but with a whimper.

I realize The Indy 500 is a big event with alot of history, but it is really a boring event. I have personally attended 2 of them and unless you have a 5oo-1000 dollar seat you really can't see much. You watch them fly by and then drink beer for 45-50 seconds and then do it again. The track is so big and so flat that you really can't see much. It is better on TV but yet it is boring. By the end of the race there is usually only 10 or so cars on the lead lap. With any luck you might get an exciting finish but usually the first 499 miles are pretty uneventful. The Brickyard (Allstate) 400 is pretty much the same except the cars are more even but really I just don't see what the big deal is about it..
