I have been fallowing this sport for more than 20 yrs. It's not a matter of trusting the people in charge of what you call "a great sport". I, along with thousands of other fans, helped build this sport. Untill the last few years I felt like it was partly mine. Now I dont recognize it. Do I think Nascar { france} favors certain drivers? Hell yes I do. They {nascar}always have.. When I read about the contract that nascar signed with espn/abc, I wonder If Brian france was drunk when he put the pin to it. The fine print in the contract stated that if the television ratings in "the chase" of 2006 fell below a certain level, Espn/abc could make any change to 3 races in "the chase" for 2007. I have have been reading some of the changes they {espn] have been thinking of making were things like monster trucks, a figure 8 race in the chase, and believe it or not , pulling trailors behind the cars for more advertising space to bring even more money to the sport that doesn't care about the fans who built them. What are they going to do next, have Dale jr. racing a school bus? It's stupid. If nascar/france lets the sport that I grew up loving and dreaming about come to this. I swear to GOD and man alike, My involvment in nascar will be over. I call em like I see em.

I AGREE THAT NASCAR IS GOING DOWNHILL. ALOT OF THE PROBLEM IS THAT EVERYONE INCLUDING DRIVERS AND OWNERS ARE MAKING SO MUCH MONEY THAT NOONE WANTS TO ROCK THE BOAT. IN THE OLD DAYS EARHARDT SR AND SOME OF THE OTHER VETERANS STOOD TOGETHER AND HAD SOME SAY ON MATTERS AND THEY (FRANCE SR. AND HIS GUYS WOULD LISTEN TO THEM. I JUST WONDER IF THIS CHASE THING WOULD HAVE HAPPENED SO QUICKLY HAD SR STILL BEEN AROUND? HE HAD MORE SAY THAN PEOPLE REALIZE. FRANCE JR WOULD HAVE HAD TO DEAL WITH HIM AND I DONT THINK FRANCE WOULD HAVE WON. JEFF BURTON SAID THAT WHEN SR WOULD WALK INTO A ROOM THAT PEOPLE WOULD HUDDLE UP SAY "THERE HE IS! THERE'S EARNHARDT". HE HAD THAT KIND OF PRESENCE. WE ALL KNOW THAT HE WAS NOT AFRAID TO PISS SOMEONE OFF. THE NEW VETERANS LIKE GORDON,STEWART,JR. AND JOHNSON ARE GOING TO HAVE TO STEP UP AND HAVE THEIR SAY FOR THE FANS .

"Hard to stand up with no backbone. I call em like I see em."

You got that right....they are all just as bad as France if they don't stand up for what they believe in. They are mostly all a bunch spoiled rotten pansy asses these days, don't let them fool ya', they like all the money and fame too, thats why they don't stand up, they got it made. It's gonna take THE FANS standing up if ya' ask me......WE are the ones that give THEM their paychecks......and as long as we are going to races and buying their stuff the message will not get across......If they won't stand up for us, we have to stand up for us.......'Cause if we wait for them to do anything about it we're gonna be waiting a LONG time......A bunch of cowards if ya' ask me......

I've been following NASCAR for 30 years and i'm to the oint now where hardly watch a race on tv. The races are getting to be like Formula 1 where it's just follow the leader and chasing the money.
