I miss Dale Earnhardt Jr . It was all so much simpler then, back in the good 'ol days of 2007.

I'm hopeful that PinHead will stay at JGR through Mark's 2009 ride and then join HMS they'll have a fearsome foursome for sure then! I think Tony is struggling with the Mfg. switch to Toyota. He's had a very long relationship with Chevy/GM over the years and they still provide support for Eldora and his race teams. That Armor-all commercial shows him drooling over a Chevy, not a Toyota.

If Tony is smart he will stay with Gibbs. The Chevy GM thing doesn't look to rosy at the moment. GM stock at a 50 year all time low. Toyota has the money.

The stock for Toyota is up and the stock for GM is down. What is happening is that Toyota is making cars that are economically appealing to the population. Gas mileage helps.
GM has a few economically appealing cars but the cost is outrageous. That's the problem here.
Barr is right Toyota has the money right now.
Tony wants to win. That's the bottom line. If the team could figure out the COT and the Toyota then he'd be back in the winners circle.

I know much speculation has been going around about Toyota. Doesn't it seem strange though that one team is winning and the others are out in left field? Things that make you go HHHMMMMM!

It's hard for me to come to chat in the summer months. My little man plays football and practice has begun. My nephew plays Baseball. My niece slow pitch softball. So most of my evenings are taken. lol
All I can say is I'll try! lol

The water is receding and most roads are opened again. It's supposed to storm tonight and tomorrow but not sure if that will affect us, if there is rain up North though that affects us.

No announcement yet (probably at the Brickyard if it's BIG news), as far as I know - lots of talk though. As far as Toyota having the money vs GM... here's my take on that. Toyota has a pretty strong grasp of how to market their product, they provide a good value for the consumer, as well as providing a quality product. I'm not suggesting that GM is not able to do the same, but the reason the subject has come up is because it's a close race between them in the attempt to win the market share of consumers in todays struggling economy.

NOW... about the racetrack stuff, in my opinion (if ya disagree with me, FINE... but please, back it up with at least a reason why), Toyota has a minor advantage right now - the engine package they have been running in the (insert name here) Truck series - who WILL be the title sponsor in 2009? They have been saying all year that there is a H.P. advantage with the CAMRY vs. the old Chevy engine (the R07 engine is not available yet right?)- but the whole "parity" thing that NASCAR began years ago is a pretty difficult subject right now.

Essentially, NASCAR tried to take away some of the ways teams could adjust their car's body parts with the development of the COT. With that being said, the best advantage a Manufacturer can hope for is in H.P.- as that is about the only thing they can control - even when that is a team to team thing mostly.

The days of taking a 1/4 inch of the spoiler and giving different downforce tolerances on a car/team based on the make of the car - is history! We've seen teams face NASCAR's wrath for taking what seem to be rather miniscule liberties (Truex - 1/16th of an inch?) WOW!

The passing is limited now, but the saves are incredible - I think those side pods or whatever are doing a great job of helping a car get straight again. But the reason NASCAR never intended on using the COT full time this season (until the team owners VOTED too)- is because until it has enough real-time race condition track-time - it just isn't done yet!

According to jayski, Tony will announce at the Brickyard that he is buying into Haas. He will have Office Depot and Old Spice as a sponsorship practice. Ryan Newman is going to drive the other car with Jack Daniles sponsorship. I just saw this.

Doesn't help the fact that Toyota has extra HP then the rest of the field. 15-20 more hp to be exact. Toyota is on top cause of the gas prices. People right now are goin for mileage not quality. GM makes really good vehicles. Me I'm stubborn and don't care for foreign cars or trucks. I'm Chevy all the way no matter how high gas gets. Nascar needed a new image besides GM. GM has the most wins in Nascar. Chevy also has an engine that is the same as the Toy's and Nascar will not let them change to that style of motor. I think its cause a contract deal or somethin. Don't know for sure.
