Car and Driver's NASCAR Joke Retracted

Car and Driver magazine is apologizing after publishing a story on April Fools' Day about President Obama ordering Chevrolet and Dodge to pull out of their NASCAR sponsorships.

They're actually in a bit of trouble for making it up. It's only a joke.

Maybe next year the Wall Street Journal could post a story that says that Car and Driver's publisher had announced plans to cease publication of their magazine. Then later, after all the employees see it and begin to panic, they can retract it and just say we were just kidding.

It's simply a really bad joke at a point in time when most people following Nascar are already aware that the manufacturers may end up having to drop their support at some point.
