Jr needs to toughen up unlike his daddy Jr. wont lay the bumper like his daddy would and he proved that in the 2002 all star race in Charlotte. He had Ryan Newman sideways coming across the finish line with two to go. Instead of wrecking him or flying past him Jr. backed off and let Ryan Newman Get his car back under control and keep his position. Being respectful and letting Newman get control he killed his chances at a second straight all star win. Not to mention it does help being NASCAR's most popular driver.

i noticed that yrs ago, i think he figures"they want it more than me,or i won't be called a cheater" if he ever rode hard on someone that is what would be said or that he's trying to walk in the old mans boots.. jrs damned if he do damned if he don't.

back when .. something changed .. i don't know but what ever he does as long as it's his choice and he feels good about it makes it okay by me. no matter who you are or what you do. if he loses the fans he'll lose credibility worthy of current earnings, for now he has a secure future he can retire but why would he, he may not be top driver any more but he has purse and he finishes well enough, tests well enough he he drives.. in the end it's all about the money anymore.

Finally, a reporter with enough smarts to see the whole picture and tell it like it is. Yes, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the face of NASCAR and yes, the leadership role that everyone thought Jeff Gordon was going to inherit has been silently moved over to Jr. No problem, he's man enough, smart enough and cares enough to handle it. Jr. Being credited as the recognized leader of the pack really pisses off most the whiny-ass, jealous crybabies. I get a kick out of ready their little rants and tirades, very amusing.
