As much as I appreciate Bill helping the WBR with his provisionals... he needs to go home... with Bill staying around, WBR is not working on the cars to get them better to qualify to keep Kenny in the car... without Bill, it would force them to work harder on getting the cars more competitive... Bill needs to step up and tell WBR he is done being used!

I agree. I really wish they'd just let Schrader race.

Unfortunately the real truth of the matter is Bill and Kenny both need to scale their participation back to something less demanding if they want to race. Regardless of the quality of car he has been in Kenny hasn't put together a consistent competitive two hundred laps since the early ninties. If WBR in going to stay in the business they simply must find them a young man to drive the car. Jon doesn't have the talent for Cup. It will be money and effort thrown away. I love the kid and he has a great personality but he is a good as he will ever be. WBR needs someone like Brad Coleman or Joey Lugano.

NASCAR already has too many over the hill grid fillers. Get a younger more deserving drive in that car and tell Bill to go back to Bumfucville, Alabama.

Nothing personal to him, just a little respect for Bill. He was doing this in a family run operation like Robby Gordon, AND WAS SUCCESFUL. He's payed his dues, let him run when and where he wants to.

Not sure about the engines. Last I heard Ernie was building Dodge engines. Roush may be providing the power plant for the Wood Brothers. Not sure.

I realize the sponsors want the most bang for their buck and wanting the biggest name they can get to drive the car and rep their product but it's a shame that this process tends to keep drivers around for far too long. Teams like the Woods Brothers, Furniture Row and all the others that have the hanger-ons driving their car need to raid the Busch and Truck series for a young man. Bobby Ginn was paying Joe and Sterling 1.2 million and 40% to drive his cars and neither one of them had a prayer of coming close to winning and those were HMS motors and chassis. I'd rather spend my money on a "maybe" than a "has been". It sort of like buying a lottery ticket after the drawing, you know for sure you're not going to win.

Kenny and Bill are one of a kind... they drive because they love the sport... first of all, Jon is NOT ready to run with the big boys... he needs his diaper changed alittle too often... as far as Joey and Brad... same deal... boys trying to play with real men......

If WBR going to stay in the game, they need to invest in their cars... once they do so, Kenny and Bill would have the #21 right in the midst of the pack and show the young whipper snappers how to get the job done!! If WBR can't give Kenny and Bill cars to drive worthy of their talents, then they are washed up!

If you want to see Joey, Brad or Jon race, watch the Busch races where the kids play!!

I find it hard to believe Elliott is washed up. The Wood Brothers can put any number of young guys in this car and they would be no futher ahead. Elliott qualifies the car then gives good technical feedback during the race to help point the team in the right direction. The problem now is all you NEW nascar fans have never seen your favourite drivers struggle, you've only seen them in excellent cars. ie Jeff,Jimmy,Kyle,Denny,Carl,Kev in and so on.
Bill Elliott is not the future of the 21 team but he is one hell of a wheel man, helping some friends.

bill may be useful as a coach but his drivin days is done, just aint got the hinger for it no more. there was a kid at the winternationals in volusia last febrary done taught kenny and the rest a lesson in gettin a modified round the track. steve arpin damn that kid was fast now jest cause his daddys last name aint earnhardt or childress or martin and he part of no diverity program he likely wont ever see the inside of a cup car but man did he put daylight on motor mouth walace. that what a team like the woods needs to be puttin behind the wheel a nobody who can out of the box quick kinda like how mcmuray came in.

based on monroe ct. and his comments. now you kmow why yankees are disliked most of the time. you must be a johnny come lately. without bill,dale,darrell,rusty,etc... . nascar would not be where it is today. wbr is like petty, they have not been a factor in a long time.

putting bill in the car helps them survive and with all the sponsers it is important to be in the show. i personally enjoy seeing him in the race, but i admit i do not like seeing him struggle.

to whoyakidding, it does not matter on getting a young driver because john wood struggles in that 21 car. jimmy johnson did not do much in the bush series because he drove inferior equipment. look it up. find out for yourself. now look at him. he is a pretty darn good driver but without the wheels you can only do so much. every tenth of a second counts. when you have an empire like HMS it makes life much easier. also many of the smaller teams have tried younger drivers and it has not worked. johnny sauter, travis kvapil, jon wood, just to name a few. then look at childress , hendrick, evernham who have had more success WITH YOUNGER DRIVERS and you find a common link- MONEY!!!MONEY!!!
