I am Happy for Mark Martin . But seeing what Tony did with a team that couldn't finish a race or barely made it in the top 20 . Turned it into a winning team and has both of his cars in the chase in his 1st year of owner ship . I am a little disappointed he wasn't pick . There is always next year :)
Yes but you're forgetting MM is the "sentimental favorite" (rolling eyes). It's great that he has been able to step back in and do so well, but I'm tired of hearing about his age. So what? I would much rather see him win the championship than JJ tho!

I agree with what you say about Tony, and not just because I'm a fan of his racing. If you put his accomplishments from this past year next to Martin, there is no comparison. But this is SI's subjective choice to make...

Now wait a minute When Bush sent the troops to Afghanistan you were all for it . Remember President Bush should send planes & bombs over there and blast the country right off the face of the earth . So what you are saying as long as a Rep.President is running the war its ok . Now there is a Dem. in the Whitehouse the war is bad .

Wonder what would happen if she learned about the Marxist connections to the Bush family a century ago. Probably find her in a fetal position.

Kind of like Dubya's speech yesterday trying to blame the economic problems on the Obama administration. I about fell off the couch laughing!

Anybody But Martin. Tony could have won this championship BUT he has done NOTHING since 5 weeks before the chase began. He will NEVER have another chance. HE BLEW IT!!!

He didn't blow it, he just figured out how to make tons of money without having to win.

Exactly. And at least Tony didn't give up. He remained upbeat and had fun with it.

Beautiful sight yesterday, watching that 48 easily cruise to another win. It was almost like he had something the other drivers didn't. It's amazing what the best driver, with the best crew chief and crew can do. They can rebuild a trashed car in an hour and go back to running almost as fast as the leader. They can take a car that's still off a little from qualifying and make a couple of adjustments and put it out front. They can dominate while other drivers with the same equipment spend the day struggling and finish laps down. Rick Hendrick is so happy he'd still be smiling if his mother died. That has to be some kind of record, to have a team with active drivers that have 8 cup championships. Makes you almost feel sorry for the other teams. NOT!!!!!

<quoted text>Tony can race once again now that his teamate has the championship almost in hand.. it sickens me to hear him complaining about his car as if he can't drive it.. If he is a sellout to Rick, then I will not be his fan anymore.. I will turn to Juan and Kurt and Kyle and Denny and Joey and the rest who will not perform teamwork to win championships for their garage..and guess what??? if I am no longer Tony's fan because he sold his soul to HMS.. I will not be on here anymore because I will then be on real racers forums...I will have to wait and see come Homestead if he was a sellout..
WE can only hope. You'll probably be talking to yourself there too because theres no one on those forums either.

I loved it. No one had anything for him. Thought for awhile Denny might but didn't happen. I would have liked to see some kind of action towards the end tho.

Could be because jimmydoes have something the other do not..it's the ability to cheat,. I just want to know what incriminating thing he is holding over nascar's head...if it was talent jimmy would have supporters and respect from all you gearheads ....but oddly you do not....ever wonder why that is ?

They all cheat Mojo, but that's not what has "Jimmie" (it's spelled with an i e)winning his FOURTH championship. It's called talent and determination. Those are common traits around HMS, at least for three of the teams. The jury is still out on the other team. That's the good news. Now the bad news, next year is going to be more of the same. I freakin love it.
