I think the number of guaranteed sports should be the same as the number in the chase. If they keep it at twelve then they are guaranteed a starting spot. If someone falls out of the top twelve then whoever moves up is in the guaranteed starter spot. They should have two drawings for time trails, one for the guaranteed starters and one for everyone that has to make the field on speed. The top twelve qualifies first and then the rest. No more gimmies for past champions.
