It is sad but at least he can admit they need a change. He might try Alms right? He might enjoy it!

1 I suppose you think all his efforts put into The Victory Junction gang suck too. Petty Enterprises as a whole has not been up to par for years. Where has Bobby Labonte been this year or last? I suppose he sucks too. If the guy wants long hair, who cares? The length of his hair doesn't mean shit when it comes to driving talent. The problem is the team, not the driver. I'm sure the results would be no different with a clean cut Jeffie or Jimmie behind the wheel. |

1 Lisa it's sad when the drivers aren't competitive and just keep racing. I love AJ Foyt but he needed out long before he quit. There would have been another Petty if not for Adams death but look at what has happened since then with Victory Junction and all. |

Oh Lord here we go. I'm over and off this thread.

chill out dude! i am just having a little fun. I do think he has stayed around too long though. I really do respect the pettys for the charity work they do with Victory junction but that does not change the fact that he needs to get out of the race car. Hey, we all get older. Hell, I can't do the things the way i did ten years ago either, It is nothing to be ashamed of. i am not going to take on a twenty year old in basketball now days and he shouldn't be competing with the young studs either. |

I don't overly mind his hair. It looks as though he keeps it clean. Though I can say he has terrible split ends as you can see them in his photos from the side.
The fact is though he's not producing any consistency. Well poor finishes. Which really sucks. I absolutely hate the fact there won't be a Petty on the track. I certainly hope he stays with the team in some capacity. Life changes and people change. Nothing to be done for it! |

Patti has this to say about the situation.
“They haven’t wanted Kyle in the car the last three years. They want a young driver.” She went on to say,“They told him at Watkins Glen -- right when he was standing there in his driver’s suit -- that they didn’t want him in the car” __________ That’s doggone harsh, especially when “they” were a family run operation until this year, when a private equity firm took over majority ownership. |

Split ends, lol! I think he has wavy hair. My ex let his hair grow one time real long when we got back together the hair had to go! I feel sorry for him now. That other poster made it sound like Patty or Patti however you spell it was hurt. That sucks! If he does the ALMS he could end up being successful in it? There's a lot of good drivers in that league. Bryan Herta for one. |

Hairdresser by trade. Tax preparer/ bookkeeper later. lol |

I think Kyle has had that long hair FOREVER. I remember pictures of a young Kyle with a mullet and I think he just let it go from there. Richard has naturally curly hair and looks like Kyle has too.
The Pettys have given so much to the sport and I know they're just trying to survive now, but it's pretty harsh to have your partners kick your son to the curb. Kyle was good in the booth and all the great work he does with the camp should keep him busy for years to come. |

1 A few of these so called young studs are actually duds. The sponsors love them because they think that the young studs will help the sponsors sell their shit. The problem is some of these cocky little f.... can't drive worth shit. I think with the downturn in the U.S. and world economies that some of these coperations may be cutting out some sponsor ship dollars. They may also want to spend a little on some aging, highly visible, nascar driver as opposed to the next coming of Jeffie G. |
