Sure, there have been some drivers who have had outstanding seasons thus far in the Sprint Cup Series, including Brad Keselowski, Denny Hamlin and Jimmie Johnson.

I'd have to say Kenseth, Biffle an Jr since they were atop the standings for the first 26 races only to have their points taken away due to the Chase format and now all 3 are at the bottom.

don't forget about Montoya! This is a lad who at one point was being compared to Schumacher as the best driver on the planet back in `99 -2000 and now he has gone six seasons with the pathetic egr team looking like a third rate driver, completely off the map and consistently a non factor in todays racing scene!
