Jeff Gluck: Blame Teresa Earnhardt for demise of the No. 8

Dale Earnhardt Jr. drove the No. 8 car for Dale Earnhardt Inc. for eight years at NASCAR's top level.

I wished that Teresa had given the #8 to Dale JR,she should have.I have tried to support her,but she is making it hard to.I still respect her because of the honor and respect she has given to Dale SR.But JR should have gotten the 3 if all she was going to do was put it on a shelf.

I blamed here for screwing around with Juniors' equipment, for not selling 51 % of DEI to Junior and for not letting him have the #8....just remember teresa what goes around comes around and you are all to blame

This is only one of the stupidities Teresa did to drive this company in the ground. She did not work hard enough to keep Pennzoil, Bud, and Napa from leaving, and when they did she didnt replace them with top name sponsors like say UPS, Cheerios, or M&M's when they were on the searching block. She didnt try to hire top drivers to replace those that left, why didnt she work harder to try and sign Biffle to the Pennzoil car or Kenseth for Napa car? I laughed when i heard she demanded over ten million to have Pennzoil sponsor the 1 car a few years ago, and offered them what driver? John Andretti! Please, that was a joke, and i dont blame them for walking! Even landing Truex was pulled out by Jr, Teresa just got lucky in Jr talking Truex into stayin with DEI. Teresa had no business being in charge of that company, she failed to keep and bring in sponsors, she failed to also keep and bring in talented drivers, and now DEI is as Tony Stewart said, a museum.

It's a number, get over it. Many successful drivers have swapped teams, numbers, etc. and the results stay the same. Then there is little E, an over rated hick.

Junior and Rick offered to pay her for the #8 but Theresa being the greedy one also wanted a cut of Jr's merchandise revenues. He said no and walked. I cannot for the life of me figure out why she thought she was entitled to any of his merchandise revenues, neither of them cared fof the other. Clearly, given the fact that she cannot find a full time sponsor for the #8 and Junior has had no trouble getting sponsorship, Mrs. Earnhardt was the loser of that battle!

What was Sr. thinking, he should have made provisions for his children in the ownership of his company. Teresa was certainly within her legal rights to do as she pleased but she certainly wasn't capable of managing it. I think she believed Jr. would take what she dished out and then when he bolted she was angry and wouldn't cooperate. Just my opinion...

She was getting her cut until he got the rights to his name he almost had to take her to court to get her to cut loose.She wanted to always get her a
nice wad of money from his merchandise sales.
After he got the rights to his own name she still tried to get her cut by hanging on to that 8.
Guess the 8 is not bringing in much now while it's parked.....I do think she was the loser
in that battle.....
